Just spoken to Swalec and apparently its a good will gesture to people with prepayment meters as their unit price is higher. Im on a normal meter and they wouldnt give it to me0

So its only for people on Ebico prepayment meters, fair enough. However the unit price is the same for all (depending where you live) whatever the meter & whatever method you pay by and when.0 -
In my area the unit cost varies depending on payment plan and meter type!0

This is going to get interesting!
Ebico charge the same amount per kWh to alll their gas customers no matter how they pay - it's part of their ethos.
I would love to understand how they are going to handle this one, and still maintain their ethos.
Either they have to give all their customers £12 discount, or they will have to somehow claw back the £12 being offered to their PPM customers (probably not a wise move)
Perhaps the Ebico Rep would care to care to clarify this, before the helpline starts getting swamped?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Sounds to me more like a Southern Electric offer which has been offered (perhaps wrongly) to Ebico tariff customers.0

"With no shareholders to keep happy, we don’t have to deal out dividends to anyone. Instead, we can put all our resources into providing EquiGas and EquiPower at fair rates for every customer – regardless of your income or circumstances, or how you choose to pay.
With Ebico, our customers come first. All customers, equally. That’s the only reason we’re here."

"EquiGas means:- one low rate for everyone
- no standing charges
- no alteration to our flat rate however you pay and however much – or little – energy you use. "
So in theory they should cough up and pay everybody. Perhaps the Ebico Company Rep would care to comment.0 -
Was a pain to get, 30 min+ PO queues, clerk made such a fuss - wouldn't scan in, asked for ID, loads of key tapping, another machine, receipts galore!!!!
I am on Ebico / SSE priority because of a medical need - wonder if that was the reason for the £12.0
