I seem to have managed it somehow; I was on their Online S@ver v1 and called them to ask to move to it when I saw it was cheaper. They agreed, and we're both happy

Based on Region 20 (Southern), 12000 Kwh of Gas (not IGT) and 3600 Kwh of Electric per year.
Using those figures on energyhelpline.com, it indicates you are currently paying a total of £777 per year (as you imply), made up of £441 gas (as you posted) and £336 electricity.
Nothing currently available beats the electric deal you have.
You could reduce your gas bill down to £427 if you switched that to EDF Energy (Or Sainsburys) Online Saver 4 whilst still paying quarterly on receipt of bill (£402 if you went monthly DD, but I know you said like me you didn't like this method of payment)
So that's a possible £14 saving - better than the £12 discount Ebico are giving only pre-payment customers.
(£25 early exit fee applies if you switch away from EDF/Sainsburys Online Saver 4 before next year.)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I like how I start a thread to let people know of a free £12 and all hell breaks loose over it, think we should keep our mouth shut in future!
How many people not on prepayment actually use Ebico anyway when there are cheaper alternatives out there?0 -

Why? Regarding your OP, I thanked you for your valuable contribution on the day you posted it.
Surely if you are to read the comments, you will realise that as Ebico claim to treat all customers equally, then it is only right that all Ebico customers should be treated with equality. Furthermore, you will have become aware of many Ebico customers just from this thread alone that are not on pre-payment meters.
Remember, as I posted earlier from the Ebico website, if it were not for the Ebico credit meter customers effectively subsidising the extra service costs of pre-payment meters, then Ebico wouldn't be able to offer the pre-payment rates that presumably attracted you to them in the first instance."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Agreed, this is simply about a company that professes inequality for all, but doesn't have the gumption to stand up for its values when its billing partner executes a royal balls up.43580

Well, having now received the same e-mail from Phil Levermore as FootyGuy, I have instructed EDF to take the supply off EBICo onto their Online S@ver 4 tariff.
I'm rather annoyed with EBICo over this; it wasn't necessarily the £12 that was the issue, but the principle of the whole thing.
Ah well.43580 -

I disagree; it's the "EBICo isn't standing up for its fundamental principles on this particular issue" thread - nothing more.43580 -

I was an EBICO customer, and wanted to support them. I found when I had a problem, maybe a little out of the ordinary, it was hard to get it resolved. I came to the conclusion they rely too much on their agents (some of whom do not understand thier relaionship with EBICO), and EBICO do not have the resources to give a fast response to customers themslves.
I finally left when their prices for medium to high consumption got really expensive, and I felt their charges were really a stealth tax, making up for the lack of Government support for those who need help.
This thread demonstrates they take their high useage, good customers for granted, and do not listen to their concerns, bearing in mind they have a representative who monitors this site, and usually responds.0 -

Not at all. Credit were credit is due. As mentioned in my previous post I was pleased to have received the personal attention of the MD in this matter. There are not many suppliers you could say that of.
Unfortunately, it was the decision itself that he made in this particular instance that I disagree with.
As requested by Phil Levermore, I will agree to disagree with him on this matter. But there are other suppliers out there and Scottish Power is looking appealing to me; they already supply my electric.0
