How long can you safely leave cooked meats in the freezer for? Is three months ok? What about six months?0

Double that and double it again, I'd say
. I leave things frozen for as long as I want, and just remember that once it's defrosted to treat it as if it's fresh, due to go off in a couple of days or so. Food that's been frozen for a long time shouldn't be dangerous if it was fresh and safe when it went in, and it has stayed properly frozen the whole time. The only thing is that the quality may deteriorate slightly with freezer burn or such.
ETA - not that packs of cooked meats ever last that long in my freezer without getting eaten!0 -
If you're going to freeze sliced meat, remember to put a piece of grease-proof paper between each slice. It makes it easier than pulling out a frozen block of meat slices, and trying to separate them.
You shouldn't have to let them defrost either, because they are thin enough that they will defrost inside the sandwich before eating. The added benefit is that it will also keep the sandwich cool.I have no signature.0 -
Thanks everyone!! I shall have a go then :j

I regularly freeze sandwich meat and have no problems with either taste or texture.

Hi,
I opened a Waitr0se ham today, and most of the slices I cut have been eaten but I have 3 decent slices left. I don't want to eat them this week, so do you think I can freeze them?
I threw the packaging away, unfortunately...and don't have access to it any more.
many thanks

I freeze slices of ham frequently - usually wrap in baking parchment and then put in freezer bag.Resolution:
