Molly - sorry to hear about your son. My DS is 23 and had a bad year last year - I saw him in tears many times and know how hard it is as a mum. He will get over this and get another job. His self-esteem WILL pick back up. Don't blame yourself for what happened. We all say/ do things at times and that's just what happens. Wishing you both better days very soon (((hugs)))

Afternoon everyone - it's snowing here (just!) the heavy stuff is forecast for later - but as I'm home from work, DD's home from school and DH is on his way home - I'm not too worried
Taplady - glad your DS is on his way home
Molly - can't really offer any advice, but please don't beat yourself up about it
Just made a batch of lemon curd muffins for the lunchboxes, taken a HM loaf of bread out of the freezer and I'm about to tackle Mt Everest (ironing ). Tea will be shepherd's pie (when the mince has defrosted) guess who forgot to get it out of the freezer this morning
Hope everyone who is travelling in the snow stays safeSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Afternoon.
The snow here hasn't stopped yet! The depth in the front garden was measuring 15" before it got made into a snowman by DD & DS3 :rotfl: It didn't take them long to make either. I was annoyed at the boys school as they didn't decide to close until 9.30am when only 76 pupils out of 800 turned in. My 2 treked all the way there on foot, as First buses have withdrawn all services, to almost have to come straight back again. I appreciate that it's a difficult decision but if I worked I'd have left and wouldn't be here to look after DS3. Good job I was here though. Rant over now
Molly Surely ADD should come under the Disability Discrimination Act? My DD has epilepsy (well controlled due to medication, last seizure 3 years ago) and we found out that it comes under the Act when the Army cadets were contemplating not taking her on Anual Camp to do activities that were no danger to her or others. They did change their minds pretty quickly after I'd been down to talk to the Major thoughIt'd be worth you finding out if it's the case for your DS as he'd have a case with his employers then. ((hugs))
I have finally cracked crochet this afternoon :T:T:T and have half of an 8" square done. It's a start at least & I'd promised myself that I'd learn this year as I've knitted since I was 8 years old.
Nothing to report on MIL I'm afraid she's still slowly fading and cannot talk now which is upsetting. Thank you for all your continued good thoughts, kind words & prayers.
Stay safe out there folks as it would appear that we're sending the snow down South tomorrow :eek:0 -
Thank you for all your kind commentsxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Ds off school. School was open, but he couldn't get to it as the bus didn't come. If the bus wasn't going thru then I wasn't about to try. dd's friend had apparently abandoned her car on the main road and was walking past the door when ds left the house this mornning. In the end he went to the park with a lot of the others. I phoned thru a message to say there was hot chocolate and fresh scones here, but he came back by himself. SOme have exams to study for. College where I work is shut tomorrow. I would only have had one lesson any way. I LOVE not having to be anywhere.
DD is staying with ex b/f in Lancaster, is supposed to be home and at work tomorrow afternoon, so hope she makes it. They will be OK with it if she doesn't make it but she will be cross if she misses out on the income!
On with the jobs!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
