Well I am one that is fed up with the snow…sorry, but my back and legs ache from walking in it……think I may be turning into a grumpy old woman :D

JackieO – grrrrr at the man in hospital car park. We have had this prob too, my DSD is diabetic and has BB, have been challenged lots of times, one time ended with me and DSD in tears and holding back OH! really needed it just before xmas, we parked very near shopping centre and after walking around for half hr she was feeling bad, checked her bloods and was very low, luckily we were not far from car and were able to get food and sit her in car for a bit to get her back to normal was a bit scarey for a while as she had never gone that low before when she was with us, so glad the car was near and we could make a quick getaway to the hospital if needed.

Pen-pin both me and OH have been offered Swine flu jab as DSD is diabetic, I didn’t have it as according to their web site when I had flu in Nov it was swine flu, OH hasn’t had it as……….well he’s a man

Molly – hugs for your son, I am not sure they can just sack him for one thing, there are procedures a company has to go through, ask for a copy of their disciplinary procedure, it is usually a verbal warning, written warning etc, to just be sacked without those is usually down to gross misconduct and one mistake does not seem like gross misconduct to me also if they are aware of a disability they must take that into account, I work closely with our OH department but am not trained in HR so it might be worth posting a question over on the employment board. Even if it means your son doesn’t get/or want the job back, it could help him realise it wasn’t his fault and help with his self-esteem

Am thankful for all those who made it home, my OH is wagon driver. Probably out all week, he’s got food and gas so should be able to cobble up a meal of tinned stuff. He’s on his way down Hampshire at the moment, hmmmmmm think the snow is following him down:eek:

(((hugs))) to anyone who needs them or just needs them to keep warm!

    Evening everyone :hello:

Not much snow here but nothing has thawed for weeks and we're due more ridiculous temperatures. There are predictions for minus 19 at the weekend and I'm a bit worried about going away. :o
Girls go back to school tomorrow so I've spent the day getting organised so I can go back to work tommorrow too.
OS wise I cleaned the windows and stripped the beds and made a yummy FR pork belly with mash and veg for tea followed my HM choc dessert muffins and clotted cream.

Sorry to hear about your son Molly. Hope something can be done. x
PP... Do you need the SF jab seeing as you've already had swine flu? Maybe you should call them before the appt. ;)
Sorry the divorce has been so rough Celyn. xxx

Better go and lay out school uniforms.

    Haribo x

Only little bit of snow coming down here now, so hopefully, wellies willing I will get to work ok tomorrow.....makes me laugh one of our other offices had to go home early cos of the snow, they all drive to work, we all walk, BUT I WALK THE FURTHEST most are 5 mins away, on a good day is 20 mins for me and I love the walk to work, but not in the snow, takes me double the time, scared of slipping over lol

I heard on the radio(BBC local radio) that you need the jab even if you've had the swine flu. I've been offered it at work but most of us declined. DH was also offered it because of his heart condition but he didn't have it(he's also had swine flu) mainly because he never goes to the docs until he's at deaths door so to speak:rolleyes:

The inside story on this is the advice is because the vast majority of cases that the authorities were happy to include in the swine flu figures were self diagnosed ( or by telephone at most) Now they say if you were not swabbed then there is no way of being sure. A midwife in my family who did have swine flu, but was not swabbed, has been forced to have the vaccine. If I remember correctly, PP was swabbed, so I think she should get the position clarified, as she would not be at risk of catching it again, although she is vulnerable to normal seasonal flu.

Lots of snow here today! Managed to get through to spend some time with bf before he is off for work on Sat, away for three weeks (I know this wont seem like much to someone but will be the longest I wont have seen him for in 7 years).

Managed to put a bookcase together with my Mam and Dad earlier. The !!!!!! got to be too much in our first attempt yesterday. Think it might have been that I wasn't putting the screws in straight, found a couple of wonky ones today, lol. What can I say, I had never tried any type of flat pack until fairly recently! Learned to use an electric screwdriver too.

Not much os except trying to run down bfs cupboards before he is away. The cat is going to be coming to stay at my parents, I think they're actually a little excited about it, lol. The cat is scared of people so will probablly take a couple of days before she comes out of hiding to say hello, bless her.

JackieO, congratulations. Always good to hear some good news :)

*hugs* to everyone who needs/wants them x

    Evening everyone

A late one from me. I too love the snow but now means that me and ds2 are stuck indoors with his leg. I have ordered a sledge off the internet today says next day delivery (ever hopeful) so he can sit on that and I can pull him along.

OS today wm been on, cleanied cooker and all kitchen worktops, need to do cupboards next. Tea was gammon cooked in slow cooker with potatoes, carrots and broccoli.

Diva - the birthday cake sounds lovely
JC & Rachel - thinking of you both
Sunnygirl - thoughts and prayers for you and your family
Jackieo - good news from the hospital. What a horrible man on the hosp car park, at least his wife did something.
Celyn90 - hope you dad gets his van back soon.
Molly41 - hope you back is better soon. I am sorry to hear about your sons job, however if they were aware he had ADD the dismissal sounds severe, I would speak to CAB or get a free half hour interview with an employment law solicitor.
Pipkin71 - hope your pain eases
Taplady - glad your DS2 got home ok
Rosyred - please let me know your secret for getting them all to help
Snooser - glad your foot is not broken
Heavenleigh - your snowman is fab

Take Care everyone especially in the these weather conditions.

    Lynne
