Woooo hoo. [STRIKE]Evil[/STRIKE] Saint Halifax account balance now reads £0.00. Goodbye 27.95% APR for ever and hello lovely new 4.95% rate.
April is proving to be more expensive than I hoped. I had to fork out £230 today for that stag do this summer, despite me privately hoping I could get out of going. Seems I am going to be an usher and as it is one of my oldest friends I have had my arm twisted better than by a school bully. Talk about demanding menaces with money.
Anyway that means this month will be there or there abouts a net even month unless I really pull my finger out. My debt won't increase but I doubt I'll do much better than minimum payments all round.
At least moving debt to Saint Halifax will free up some money in future months. Will get on to that tomorrow.
Oh and work still sucks. I'm off to Dublin though now so at least I get a break from the tube for a few daysGot my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010

Thanks to some people in Iceland not dusting their volcanoes properly I never made it to Dublin. Thankfully my outbound flight was cancelled which meant by the skin of my nose I avoided being stuck over there for days - the word is that the majority of flights will be grounded well into next week.
I guess I'll just have to go and find a cheesy Irish bar in London and sink a few jars of Guinness there instead.Got my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010

Not dusting volcanoes properly - love it :rotfl:
Given my co ordinates, you can imagine that I am not overly concerned about the lack of planes flying over my sunny garden
I admire your blitz spirit in finding an alternative location to partake of your liquid iron supplement0 -

You must be loving this extended flight ban then Lula.
I'm not and not just because I missed out on a trip to Dublin last week but because several of my team are stuck overseas - one in Spain and one in the States - which means more work that I have to pick up and deal with

Eeek . Good job I've drunk all the Gin then!
I notice that Saint Halifax has just paid off my AMEX card so that is £3,200 moved to a 4.94% APR. I've also requested to move £2,000 from my HSBC MasterCard to that rate as well. Sadly though this shuffle has cost me £160 in balance transfer fees which is annoying but I'll make that back in 3 months - overall I'll be saving about £50 a month in interest from this move so it is all good. This will leave me with roughly the following debt at the start of next month:
HSBC MasterCard - £500 - 19.9%
Egg Visa Card - £6,000 - 16.9%
Halifax Visa - £5,350 - 4.9%
Overdraft - £1,900
Total Debt = £13,750
I now have a new short term target - pay off the MasterCard. Two months should do it I think....Got my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010

Actually, I was thinking of your corona... All should be ok now though
Do you know the interest rate on your overdraft?
Are your colleagues back yet?Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
I have to admit I've actually enjoyed watching these televised election debates but do we really have to have to listen to all these MPs sucking up to their party leader at the end and dribbling on about how fantastic they were?
Good job I'm not a politician really as I'm too straight talking. Don't think I'd have a job long if I told the interviewer "well actually I thought they were pants and just waffled along without having anything to say whatsoever. Personally I liked the opposition leader".
Loving Alistair Campbell just completely ignoring the poll results in front of him and saying that Gordon Brown was 'clearly the strongest' of the three and everyone would 'recognise' that. Seriously what planet do these people live on? If I just ignored facts in my job as they didn't suit my argument I'd be sacked :rotfl:Got my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010

Ah, that is a good point Gwen - hadn't thought about the impact on a nice cold beer
I have just moved to an HSBC advance account so my OD is at 17.9%. I probably should pay it back before my Halifax card thinking about it.
Both colleagues are travelling back tomorrow so should be back in the office on Monday. Now I just need to think how to get my own back on them - maybe a few sickies next weekGot my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010
