Hi all
I have just joined the forum and have been looking through all of the challenges. Although I am a bit late I would like to join this challenge and give up drinking diet coke when I'm in the office at work.
There is free still and sparkling water and hot water is only 5p from the machine so I want to drink these instead. Not only will it be healthier for me to drink water and herbal tea but I've worked out I'll save over £650 per year :j (I was drinking 3 bottles a day at 94 pence per bottle ).0 -

Hi WeaselPop, #25!
Welcome and good luck in the challenge.
3 bottles a day, this is going to be a great saving! !MFW on your mark0 -
Hiya I'd like to join in please, I'm going to start small and pain free, I'm going to save 43p per weekday by not buying my local newspaper, I'm going to read my mam & dads copy instead. saving £2.15 per week;)
I'd like to join too.
I'm doing the same as Tracieann. No more newspaper buying for me. I reckon i'll save between £2.60 & £3.60 per week! I hadn't realised i was spending quite so much! I'll just watch the news on tv instead... there's 24 hour coverage after all!.

Hello I would also like to join pleasse ?
The one thing I have stopped doing since the new year and would like to keep up is
Not paying for taxis for short trips
I understand that on a night out or a day I have to pick my daughter up from somewhere then safety is involved , or a total emergency which I want to be the only time I pay for a taxi .
Since before New year I used to plan to get taxis rather than setting off earlier sometimes - So I now have to make more of an effort to be organised to .:oEbay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

Hi keys, totally with you. Where security is involved, let's not take unnecessary risk! Will you be adopting walk instead (or public transport)?

Oh I read all the papers on the train. And if anybody desperately misses magazines I have a stack of Empire/Total Film (old ones from subscriptions) I can send around...But I shall keep the releveant ones for meeee.
And I've not bought a book or a mag all month...** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Thanks for adding me, Karom
. You're right, from here on it it's 2nd hand newspapers for me only. I did see one on the bus yesterday, but it was on the floor and looked trodden on, so i gave it a miss :rotfl: I'm not that desperate!
Happy to report that i've not bought a newspaper for 2 days and instead i'm putting the money saved into a money-box.

I used to love those mags, i think i may have a few editions. I threw most of them out a few years ago to make more space... i really regret doing that now
.
I probably kept the ones with Tom Cruise and River Phoenix as i loved them at the time... i'll have to root around and have a look.
