Drop one thing in 2010

Options
Hi All,

I have been looking for similar threads and couldn't locate one. I am wondering if you have similar situations and have decided in 2010 for one year to drop 1 thing.

For me it is books. I know it sounds silly but living in a small flat, and bringing the bargain buys from Oxfam have slowly filled my backroom to the point where the book discussion has become a recurrent theme with my partner.

I resisted not so long ago buying the latest one from my favorite author (newly released at £20!)

So here is my pledge for 2010... I shall not buy any books and will endeavour to read the ones I already possess and get them back to the charity shop unless I can sell them online!

What's your pledge?

Cheers ;)

Fab idea. Am trying to avoid the pound shop!! As I never have any cash in my purse I have to use my debit card, and minimum spend is a fiver...... fiver spend on plug ins, crappy kids toys, and some books...... I dont need these. Just have to avoid the place :D

oh I could never give up my books, I'm studying to become a librarian so they are my life!!!

Mine will be my tv - I never ever watch it, and decided to see whether I switched it on over Christmas and make a judgement call on 1st Jan as to whether I should keep it.

It was switched on once on Sat night to see the newspaper review on Sky news and that was it - so it's being freecycled!

I cannot understand how people can sit and watch it, I don't watch DVDs or films either, I'd rather have my head in a book, or a newspaper.

Really? I don't know anyone who has their tv on in the background? I'm a mature student and two of the younger kids at college moved into a flat together and don't have a TV.

My TV is in my sitting room and I rarely go in there, I would never have a tv in my kitchen and my office is peace and tranquility!

Actually the cinema for me! Such a rip off, £7 something each for me and the gf, nearest one is 30 miles away in town, so travel costs aswel, plus popcorn and juice aswel it comes to over £20 a visit and its too loud in there i think! Great big screen big enough to hurt your eyes and they shout at each other instead of speaking. So iv found something :)
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
