I emailed them using the contact form and received this auto response:
"Dear customers,
We may be experiencing a technical difficulty with our systems at present. Please excuse any inconvenience this may be causing you. Our IT department has been advised of the issue and is looking in the matter at hand.
Kindest regards,
Customer Service"0 -
Oh heck. I've got an account with them (and 18185) too!
I raised a ticket with 18866 and got the following response:
"We may be experiencing a technical difficulty with our invoicing system at present. Please excuse any inconvenience this may be causing you. Our IT department has been advised of the issue and is looking in the matter at hand."
So at least they acknowledge there 'may be' a problem
Edit: It is not possible to log into 18866 at present - to many complaints?0 -
I got the same reply, at least it shows they are responive to our problem.:)0

Same here i received same automated reply.
I havent received Any "multiple emails" from 1899, even though they use same finance company for invoicing. So hopefully they haven't been effected.0 -
Just one email here ..... quoting an invoice which cannot possibly be valid. Last time I used 18866 was back in 2006. I have sent numerous messages to Call18866 and have had no response apart from an automated one saying they have got the message. I have since called my credit card provider (even though my previous payments way back were on a card with a different number and which has long since expired) and I was the third person to do so this morning. They have logged the problem and assure me that if anything comes through their fraud people will contact me. SO ... phone your card company as a safeguard.
Still bloody annoying!! Would you nice if you could just pick up the phone and talk to them about it!!
Just a thought ..... I currently use 18185 for some calls. They are owned by the same parent company (Finarea). I have sent their Customer Service people an email asking for their comments and that the reassure me that their billing is not affected. Having said that, if this does turn out to be fraud then I shall cancel my service with them IMMEDIATELY. Any updates would be very interesting.0 -
Yes I am having problems with them aswell. Last year they charged me an amount I disagree with. I tried to contact them with no luck. It was only a few pounds but it was irksome. Now they are invoicing me for bundles but although not easy if I do access my account to see the itemised details there are none. Luckily for me I have changed my credit card details so they cant take any money but I am concerned that they could try and put me on a bad debt register.OldGreyFox wrote: »Many people are having the same problem see

So I think it is about time to complain to the credit card people and Trading Standards. If we all do it they will have to take notice.0 -
I too received invoices all dated 2/7/10, all for varying amounts and all containing NO call itemisation. I haven't used them for 2 or 3 years. I queried it & received back the "We may be experiencing a technical difficulty with our invoicing system at present. Please excuse any inconvenience this may be causing you." email this morning.
Late last night I phoned the bank. The debit card I used for 18866 expired 18 months ago. But the bank say its a "continuous payment authorisation" whatever that means so the bank say that although the payment has failed this time, it is possible for the merchant to obtain payment eventually as the bank will honour it. The bank say it's to allow for payments to be made when cards have just expired & prevent loss of service for example. I can sort of see the logic behind that for recent transactions but not a merchant trying to use a completely different card card number and a long expired expiry date. I did say that to the bank but they said it could still happen. I can't see that myself but has anyone got any comments?
Also there are going to be people who don't actually owe 18866 any money BUT have valid card details & presumably their bank account will get debited. What happens if this then makes them considerably overdrawn? I've just totalled the invoices I got sent & it's well over £200... more than the total I've ever paid to them.
Best Regards... Ian0 -
Tried this a year ago with no success. They are a company who do not want to be found. I have said on another site that I am going to complain to the credit card company and trading standards to start with and if we all do the same maybe action will be taken.Ah, I'm glad I popped on here.
It seems I am the lucky one as I have only received 1 invoice from 18866!! Although I have not used their service for over 2 years and I am no longer able to log on as my number is not registered on their system any more!
I have gone through their register fault procedure and managed to send them a message through a hard to find online form.
Found on a post by Heinz from January

Question for you all. You are saying you have had invoices but has money been taken out of your account? I changed my credit card a little while ago so they should not be able to take money out of my account but they could in theory put me on a bad debt list.0

Couldn't we all complain to the regular Ofcom?0
