A productive day for myself and OH today with some chore-hurdles truly leapt over!

Still 2 big jobs to do- may get on with one tonight in front of a DVD. Will set up piles- wash, clean so put away, charity, throw. Time to get ruthless.

Also paid my phone bill and my one-off bill. Still to come out this month are:

    £20.22- pet insurances
    £155.89- car insurance
    £8.26- sky
    £21.71- bank account fees
    £6.07- flebay fees
    £14.99- creditexper1
    £10.95- weightwa1chers
£55-75- job on home, being completed on Thursday.

    Total= £293.09-£313.09

    Purse balance £9.54

    Bank balance £617.12

    Savings balance £175.00

    28 days til payday.

Not sure how accurate bank balance is- lots of transactions out and big differences between available/actual balance. Should all have cleared/settled by tomorrow so can pinpoint more accurately.

Leaving new furniture purchase until next pay month. Will buy the smaller thing I need for £15 and leave the £200 one as things are tight as it is without that making it worse. Only 4 weeks til I can get it.

So I should have around £313 left once all payments cleared out of bank (ignoring savings as I'll need that for social things this month). I need some wardrobe bits so will bargainhunt. Toying with the idea of squeezing in some highlights towards the end of month depending on how bad my roots are!

    Will clarify figures in morning.

Spent £13.43 in co-0p today on bread, ice-cream, caramel shortcake, peppermint tea, echinaccea tea, eggs, flatbreads and cookies. All junk for OH and sensible things for me bad idea taking him shopping.

Need to remind him to pick up his dry-cleaning on Thursday.

Feel like my month is starting to shape up in terms of what I need to make my money cover.

Goodness me you've had a busy few months!

Good to have you back and well done for getting on track again. It must take a bit of planning to adjust to new income as well as expected expenditure but you seem to have it in hand. :)

    Purse balance £65.00

    Bank balance £216.29

    Savings balance £175.00

    26 days til payday.

I think remaining payments will go tomorrow as they are scheduled for 1st Sept and that's a Saturday.

    Today I have:

    checked online banking

    taken rubbish out

    picked up drycleaning for OH

withdrawn cash for job on house

been accepted for a small basic credit card- will set up spending system so it's used every month for set things and paid in full every month too to improve my rating

applied for same card for OH- doesn't have an awful rating but never had any credit so he has made a purchase using finance (which will be 0% if cleared within 6 months) and now applied for a basic card

played about with budget- think I can clear my Barc1aycard next month- my last ever credit card from my debt. It was so hard getting a new account with a different credit card provider I want to have an immaculate record to improve my rating. Pleased to be getting rid of the past.

made spicy Szechuan chicken stirfry for lunch to save pennies

    done all the washing up

treated OH by picking up fresh croissant, juice and coffee for breakfast

    Hey Miggy,

yeah it will take getting used to. I've not had my salary update- whether it is changing for this year or not so the next payday should clarify things. Then in a few months I might have another change. We shall see.

Hope all is good in Miggyland- congrats to your DD for uni x

Hey Snoz, there's another portion in the fridge but I can't guarantee it'll be there for very long!

    Hope all's well with you

    A few spends from yesterday:

£5.50 in co-0p (pizzas, garlic bread, pineapple, reduced bread rolls, reduced breakfast muffins)- this was instead of ordering a takeaway

£3.00 in ice1and- chicken wings for Oh to go with pizza

    Paid for in cash.

    Savings balance: £175.00

Bank balance: £216.29 (to cover direct debits for £155.73, £20.22, £6.07 and £10.95, most due tomorrow)

    Purse balance: £62.24

    25 days til payday

Today OH is having a lie in as he was very late to bed due to his PC game! I am meeting a friend for coffee and a catch up.

Tonight the usual suspects of laundry and tidying will take priority- this has been planned for a few days but I keep ignoring it. The whole bedroom storage needs to be organised with what is going in what drawer but it'll be an ongoing job. Priority is to get rid of stuff we don't need then get everything put away. Can be OCD about drawer organisation once I have a tidy room!

Beef mince out of freezer- probably spag bol tonight.
