Annoying "public information" phone calls - Money Saving Advice Centre

I'm getting plagued by recorded "public information" calls from the "Money Saving Advice Centre" despite having told them to remove me from their database, being ex-directory and having signed up for the TPS ages ago.

Does anyone have a website/fax for them so I can advise them of my annoyance in writing and copy it to the ICO?

In the meantime, I've had to resort to paying BT £4 a month to reject withheld numbers

  • This number called me yesterday after I twice requested them to stop last year, I am registered with TPS and have previously complained about the number to IOC and TPS.
Yesterday they said they were from MSAC - Money Saving Advice Centre. I complained to IOC and TPS again.
Today they have called again claiming to be called "Claims Justice". I spoke to an unhelpful manager called David who explained that they are a group of companies operated by CPN but stated that he was not allowed to say who CPN was.

I have further investigated - CPN is Compensation Professionals Network Ltd and MSAC and CJ are trading names. I recomend complaining about the unsolicited calls to TPS and IOC as well as to the Ministry of Justice who CPN state are their regulators. If we complain about the main company perhaps that will have a bigger impact.

I very much doubt it will make any difference. My Panasonic phone has a number bar feature

When they ring say you will get the person they ask for then walk off leaving the phone off the hook.Keep doing this till they get the message.
  • Ditto the OP, only calling themselves "the credit crunch advice centre".

Blatantly misleading...who is the best org to complain to??

Morning all, just thought I'd post this here as some of you may also come across this bunch......did eventually talk to some idiot on the 0800 number who was STILL trying to sell me something... all credit for his tenacity.

I have been plagued by calls from 'MSAC' and there seems to be no way of saying 'NO I'm not intersted, never phone me again'.

After a bit of research, they are from 'Money Saving Advice Centre'

    also trading as 'Claims Justice'

owned by Compensation Professionals Network Ltd
    Ringway House
    Bell Road
    Basingstoke
    Hants
    RG24 8FB

    www.claimsjustice.co.uk 0800 856 8808

They are involved in everything from PPI and Bank Charges Reclaim, Selling DRO and IVA, Consolidations....the lot. basically, everything that will cost you more money!

Reported them to OFCOM. They ring, you only ever get an automated Q & A session. If you answer NO to everything you get 'We will EITHER amend our records OR ring you back within 24 hours'!

Alternatively speak quite hushed to them after pressing 2... tell them they are !!!!! etc... them shout as loud as you can (and trust me I can shout loudly!) to "stop f***ing calling me!" and hang up... :) Might not work but darned it felt good! BTW the company that dials your number is called Call Plus and they are a US company - handy because I ain't calling a US number! So ICO here I come - I've had enough! :)

ICO btw are the ones governing these yahoos...

  • Posting this in the hope that these idiots read the forums to see what people say about them.

A - "This is not an advert so please don't hang up"
    OH YES IT IS !!!

B - How do they expect anybody to deal with, or respect the advice of a company that starts with a blatant LIE?

C - Ditto with "press button 2" to talk to somebody. What guarantee do we have that the number doesn't connect to Outer Mongolia or somewhere similarly remote and costly.

    OK - rant over.

  • I've been getting calls from MSAC on 02031 891150 over the last couple of days so I called Compensation Professionals Network Ltd and spoke to a girl by the name of Victoria who when I asked for a manager, put me on to a guy by the name of David. David is overseeing Victoria at the moment and could he help me as there are no floor managers available at the moment - so you can take it as read this is a call centre.

David wants to know how he can help me and when I ask if MSAC is a part of Compensation Professionals Network Ltd, David says he's not sure but he'll try and find out - but in the meantime how can he resolve my issue. I explain I don't want to waste his time and mine by explaining the problem if MSAC is not a part of Compensation Professionals Network Ltd and therefore could he find out for me. David isn't sure if MSAC might not have been another company who previously worked in the building as Compensation Professionals Network Ltd at some point - but in the meantime how can he resolve my issue. I explain I don't want to waste his time and mine by explaining the problem if MSAC is not a part of Compensation Professionals Network Ltd and therefore could he find out for me.

David is not sure if MSAC is a part of Compensation Professionals Network Ltd but he thinks they might used to have been - but in the meantime how can he resolve my issue. I explain I don't want to waste his time and mine by explaining the problem if MSAC is not a part of Compensation Professionals Network Ltd and therefore could he find out for me.

David thinks that MSAC used to be a part of Compensation Professionals Network Ltd and that some of the staff still work in the office - he will find out for me. I say I'll hold and David says he'll find out for me and call me back, bye.

Whoa hold on sister I say (David doesn't know my number so how will he call me back) - I WILL HOLD. You will hold David says suprised, okay well he will find out and come back to me and David puts me on hold. I'm on hold for a few minutes but I have no faith David will come back to the phone. I hang up.
