Hi all,
I love reading all the diaries and since I can only access the internet at work every morning I hunt through to find them. Lynz- please keep yours up (if you have the time and inclination) it is not boring and I am sure I am not alone in reading it whenever I can. Anyway, back to the topic, a separate board for diaries with the most popular/ most frequently updated diaries being stickies (yes, that includes you SS!).Saving for an early retirement!0 -
I still think that have a place for debt diaries is a good idea though as I know that before I started posting, in the days when I was a lurker, reading people's progress and realising for the first time that I really was not the only one in this much of a pickle was so inspiring to me.
It's good to know that there are others who share this battle and if DFW was reduced to just SOA's and dry questions we would not be able to share in all the inspirational stories of others who are achieving DF status. Kind of the online equivalent of saying "I'm Molanole and I am a debtor".Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96
NOW TOTALLY DEBT FREE!!!!!!!! Woooo hooooooo!!! DEBT FREE DATE: 23 December 20090 -
maybe Ill do a weekly update only then - seeing as you guys ask so nicely
but im all for them being moved off here, maybe a subforum like there is in health & relationships ( is that what a child board is)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I do like reading people's diaries, and think it's great for inspiration. But I do agree that it can mean that new posts get shuffled down quite quickly which can probably seem a bit demoralising, especially for new posters. I think a sub-board-type-thing so you know where they are but they don't take up so much front page-space (get all this technical jargon!) would be a good idea.

. Just kidding. I'm just as much to blame for the chatty threads, and will definately keep reading the diaries (would post my own, but I doubt anyone would want to hear more about my trip!!), just be good if they had their own space.
Of course, SS's should be at the top..:rotfl:

Yes, quite a lot of boards have child boards where it sits "under" the main board and the latest post from either board will show up on the front page as being the latest post.
No need for any of them to be made a stickie though as I am sure James and SS will each make sure their one is "top of the heap"0 -
I think a child board is a fab idea for this - tbh the debt diaries are the first thing I look for when I log onto the DFW board so if they were all in one place that would make my life easier
but I also agree that genuine queries and first time users who really need help can quickly get pushed to the bottom of the pile and lost amongst the (witty and entertaining!) diaries (and SS's too
)... so there's my twopenneth worth!

Hiya
I think it's a good idea too. Martin wants to keep the debt diaries on the same board though - he thinks it's what gives DFW its character and I can see his pointCould you do with a Money Makeover?
