Do you think a separate board could be set up for individuals debt diaries? Perhaps make them all a sticky or something?

That way people know where they are & dont have to hunt through pages and pages to get to them, and also the debt free wannabe board is kept a bit clearer.

((I'm all for the diaries, but I think they'd be better off having their own space)).

Good idea, would make it a bit easier to look for advice when thats all youre sifting the board for.
  • I do tend to agree that these diaries should be placed in one board.
No offence to anyone, whilst they are interesting and somewhat inspiring they are taking over the DFW board and its getting harder to find most of the helpful or wanabee helped threads.
(that is still not to say that DF Diaries are not helpful as they are)

    Keep up the good work

I think it would be a really good idea to set up a "child" board for the more chatty threads on DFW. Don't get me wrong I love reading all the threads on DFW and often link Martin to threads like the birthday cake one and the poem but at the same time I often feel for people who are seeking help for the first time or even just trying to find their own thread which can get pushed down so easy to 2nd or even 3rd/4th pages very quickly.

The Diary threads themselves are very inspirational and well worth reading once a new user has got the hang of the forums but if they had a "child" board along with the more chatty threads like What Have You Spent Today I think perhaps new threads would get the help required more quickly.

    hmmm, interesting idea!

I agree that the diary threads are becoming more and more popular and taking up space on the board. Its not that these threads are not useful, there are often very interesting and helpful conversations going on in them. Thing is, the title doesn't say anything of what's being discussed at that point and, short of keeping up to date with all of them, it can be off-putting.

I don't know if a separate board is the way though, it might simply get forgotten. I can understand the personal appeal of having a diary, keeping a record of things and getting individual advice. But they do push other discussions off the page.

I don't know what I think really, be interested to hear other people's ideas!

Thanks Ms_L for starting the discussion :D

SS - you should create one of those ticker tape things for the bottom of our screens so that we don't miss any breaking news! ;)

Seriously though, I think this is a good idea - maybe a child board or something. These pages move so fast it's hard to keep up with my own threads let alone everyone elses. :D

This is the reason I want you evicted ;) . Just kidding. I'm just as much to blame for the chatty threads, and will definately keep reading the diaries (would post my own, but I doubt anyone would want to hear more about my trip!!), just be good if they had their own space.

Of course, SS's should be at the top.. :D

I completely agree with you Ms L

Ive been considering letting my one die as actually its quite boring.

Others are more interesting than mine though, I guess, but there are a lot of them and I agree its very hard for newbies and thieir SOAs to get through and keep "bumped " with people like me updating thier threads with every little detail. No offence to anyone meant here, im talking about mine just posting carp like " ive just done a yougove survey" and im not too sure why mine is useful to anyone but me ( even then Im querying what the point of mine is even to me lol)

Mind you emilys is brilliant
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
