Skipsmum, so sorry to hear that your bank account has been got at. There's some real ***** around aren't there.

Well, it's snowing in Bristol now - threatened earlier but now it's starting to come down properly.

Sat here gorging on chocolate brownie cheesecake - we were meant to be going out tonight but it's been cancelled as my friend is ill. I had bought the cheesecake especially and we can't have it spoiling now can we ;)

Off to walk the dog in a minute - wish me luck!

Snowing heavily in Gloucestershire. Have just told the children that I don't think it's wise to travel 20 miles to pantomime in snow. Tears all round, especially from dd2 who missed it with school due to having pneumonia.

Just a quick post for Greenbee - My DH is on his way back up from Hook via Oxford/Northampton and he says it is clear. He was at Oxford when he called. HTH, saves you fretting.

At work (and I shouldn't be on here!) so not much done. So far today I have scrubbed pot noodle out of the sink before I left for work. The joy of badly trained resident teenager.

I'm glad DH is on his way home, I've just heard the weather warning - hants/berks will never cope with 40cm of snow :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hey everyone! Thankyou so much for all the wonderful advice! I'm curiously to know how you all kept costs down? What you did?
Piggers, do you really think thats expencive? I guess when you think we'd have to add ontop the registras fees which are astronomical it would be pushed up. When you break it down-
    Room for ceremony
    Reception room
    Buffet for 100
    Wine for toasting
    Wedding planner
    Master of ceremonys
    Disco
    Room for jase and i

Realistically if we split that up what would it normally cost? Im looking into it now but advice from anyone would be muchly apriciated.
Piggers what do you think would be a more cost effective idea/ideas?

I've started writting lists etc. Oooo and i couldnt possibly ever leave out my two baby sisters....i've promised Twittany(Brit) since she was little and she is still very much excited now! Its not a huge problem like i said as we will only have to pay for our two's dresses
I should have mentioned ages/sizes etc, Hellenjelly Thanks for the lovely offer but the size is no good unfortunatly. Ages are 12-18months, 5, 12, 14 and 15years...and Lewis suit wise will be 4-5years.
I've been peeking on ebay and some of the stuff is amazing....found some lovely dresses for about £17 all in. Also the most beautiful wedding dresses, made in hongkong or china and delivered for about £100...I thought i might go round a few shops and check out styles then have a think...just worried its a bit of a risk? Thought at least if i knew the styles i could pick one, get Jase's Aunt to messure me properly and then, god forbid if it came and didnt fit Anne could adjust it? What do you all think?
Look at me babbling on again, so sorry! Maybe i should start my own thread lol and you could come over there instead of me hijacking the flyladies! x

    Sweep and mop the floor

    Clean the hob and oven
    Clean out the fridge..
    Level Three
Clean and wipe the table, replace the cloth if necessary

Tuesday ~ Master bedroom and landing!
    Level Two
    Vacuum the floors
    Level Three
Tidy a chest of drawers/wardrobe.. is there anything past its best that can go live elsewhere?
Clear and tidy the top of a wardrobe/COD and replace only what is necessary.. surely you don't need it all!?
Wash curtains/blinds that are in need.
More snow overnight but sunny this morning.
I was going to hibernate, but had a card to post so found 'inherited' walking stick and made it to the nearest food shop. :T
Bag strap broke while I was in the shop  however realised it was just the stitching so said to the girl ' oh that's good I can sort it when I get home'
She looked very impressed and said 'Oh can you sew then?' :rotfl:

Hugs to all those battling through the snow for work/school
Extra hugs to skipsmum and 'bad luck' vibes to the *hole who got at your account.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for all the DH messages - he's had a cat scan so now we're waiting for the results, he's on the Surgical Assessment Unit - hoping thats not gonna happen as he's meant to be starting a new job on Monday - you know, in this house it never rains - but by golly does it bloody poor down, we go from one thing to another with hardly a pause for breath, still, he's on pain relief now which is helping a bit so the waiting game begins. I'm dreading telling kiddies later as they adore him and DD will automatically cry and ask if he's going to die!!!!!!!!! If he's staying in tonight I'm taking them in to see him [with chocolate for them and him] so that they can see that he's not at deaths door

    Thank you everyone

    Helen x

PS - Absolutely no flying done - I'm too tired now
Projects made for craft fair - 40 :)
    1st fair on 13/4/14 :j

Wow - that's yesterday done then. Yippee. I wonder how many of you cleaned the cupboard under the sink by hauling it all onto the kitchen floor and then ending up chucking half of it in the recycling/bin! Now I have a list of cleaning stuff to add to the Mr T list for later in the week too.

Is that not how everyone cleans a cupboard?

I am tight as nuns knicker elastic so I would try haggling them down a bit on costs.. because that is what I do.. Plus I rarely see £1000 in my bank account so appreciate the value a lot .. and I have a downer on marriage this week so my opinion is coloured by that. About marriage I feel the same as the Grinch does about christmas.. :p

Buying from Asia.. be careful.. look at the ones with high percentage of positive feedback, email a couple of buyers and ask how long delivery too what the service was like etc. Ooh.. there is an American seller does the most adorable dresses.. something about ducklings in their user id..... gimme a sec....
