  • I knew you lot would come to the rescue!!! I'm far far far far far to excited to sleep so just digging out my pen and papers...did go to bed but heads swimming! So excuse me for babbling!!!!
Booking places for receptions/night do's is often a problem in the summer so get that done FIRST..
I have about three in mind, possibly a couple more in the area. We are doing the whole thing in the holiday inn chain hotel thingys. They are offering ceremony, buffet, room and wine for 100, MC, Disco and overnight stay for £999
So, thats most of the hard work out of the way surely? We are trawling round them this weekend and next, and will book whichever one takes our fancy...I need plenty of Good luck-the-dates-free vibes gals! Mum and family are over from about the 6th -21st july, so best weekend would be sat17th however if we have to it will be done midweek, i've no problem with that.
Order flowers and cakes early, they too book up quickly and a long time in advance. Photographers and cars too.
Flowers my best mates(also maid of honour) mum is a florist and has agreed to do them. Im pretty sure it will be at a knock down price, or i could ask as a wedding pressi:p
Cake again i have a friend who makes stunning cakes, as anyone who is on my facebook will know from Amelia;s birthday cake so i shall call her tomorrow and call in a favour!
Photographer my uncle and a family friend are both keen and excelent photographers so another favour there!

Invites shouldn't take too long.. and need to be sent out at least 6-8 weeks before so people can book time off work, make travel arrangements and save up to buy you a decent present!
Im thinking of spending some time making my own:confused:got plenty of time on my hands right now...although how wonderful they will be begs to be seen!
Final things are probably the actual items of clothing.. is it possible any of us can help out? Little suits and frilly dresses are rarely worn so pass on well.
This bit sucks! I have SEVEN:eek: bridesmaids and cant get out of any.....although i wouldnt have it any other way! Im keeping fingers crossed mum will buy/hire sistersX2 and bros suit...older sister and mate will get their own and we get jaimee millys and lous.
Jase has just informed me his aunty is a dress maker...how did i not know that?! Might pose a problem with three breidesmaids in australia tho:confused:
If anyone has anything they think might be any use let me knows:o

Like the sound of the spread sheets, thanks greenbee
anwsmum I actually like organising things...but get my self in a tizz cus i overevaluate things and like stuff to be perfect...you wouldnt believe it looking at the state of my house! :rotfl:Im hoping this will be a fun journey!!!!
Toots fankyou :) I shall go do some googling now, see if i can find a timeline planner, brill idea thankyou! How are you? Did you get out christmas cards? x

    Morning all

Don't think I'll get much flying done today as I've just waved DH off in an Ambulance - he had a possible prostate infection about a month ago which keeps flaring up but yesterday it got bad and as soon as he got home he went to bed, then at 3.10 this morning he woke me up as he was in severe pain so I ended up calling an Ambulance and off he's gone, I'm thinking either prostate probs but a bit more severe than what we first thought or Appendics probs [have thought it was Appendics from the start but what do I know] anyway, hopefully it will be sorted today. So once kiddies are at school, if I can get them there, they'll be very upset that DH is in hossy, I'll try to fly to keep my mind occupied although I may have to have a little kip, so, see you all later

    Helen x

ETA - Huge congrats to Zoe - how exciting, we organised ours [I say we and mean me hehe] in 6 weeks, quite agree that the less time you have to do it the better. I have a lilac silky little number [puffed skirt, thin shoulder straps sash] for a 9-10 year old if you're interested, worn twice and in lovely, looks like brand new condition, I'm quite happy to post it to you if you want it or if you want a photo PM me with your email addy as I can't work out how to do photo's on here.

Defo walking boots day today listening to the updated forecast  We have no snow at the moment but it looks v. frosty out there. At least if I take the boots, I'll be able to get home more easily if we get a dump of snow during the day and the buses stop yet again. This town so rarely gets snow that when it does everything stops!

With my meetings this afternoon I am unlikely to be able to address today's list today but it will get done later on in the week.

Ooooh - forgot to say: ZLJ - lovely news on the wedding, I hope you'll both be very happy xx I organised my DS and DiL's wedding in 7 weeks - and they married in August. It helped that it was a Friday as far as booking the venue was concerned.

Be careful out there today ladies - the weather does not look pleasant.

We have had snow overnight - I can't decide whether to walk or take the car - the main roads should be fine providing we don't have any more snow - it's just the estate that I live on and the estate that the school is on. The only problem with walking is that I'd have to walk the kids to school and then walk to work and get in work late.

Zoe - Congratulations - give me a shout if you need help with anything.

I had hoped for the LR today but the BRR's okay.

    Have a good day all
