Toots - I've finished all my lists for the week

....and that might be it for me for stars for a while.

    Can I make a suggestion?

To try and keep posts a bit shorter how about people deleting things from the list once they are done, then we don't have reams and reams of the same list with different bits crossed out. It will be easier to see which bits people are leaving til last, could be that they are more time consuming or some of the less popular jobs.

Also with the sheer volume of posts we need to make it easier for toots to spot when stars are required so a reminder for all to post in bold and red when a particular day is complete.

We are a friendly bunch and the support here is second to none but I am concerned that it is getting diluted by the number of posts and newbies will be frightened away by the size of the thread.

If we can all try to make sure there is some flying mentioned in each post (keeping chat for the weekend) then there is no harm in tacking on our jubilations, commiserations, rants or other news we want to share.

I hope I have not offended anyone.

I tend to keep going back and editing my post and just bring my tidied up list over once a day.

I love the support here and let's face it the reason most of us are here is because housework is boring.

One suggestion, tomorrow morning, I'm going to go and post my "chat" stuff on the Daily thread and only post my FL list here ;) If those of you who fancy a chat come over there, we'll all have each other to chat to :D If you admit to being Overly Chatty, it'll be just the place :p :rotfl: :A

Might give that a go, it's been a while since I've been over to the Daily, they will be swamped by flyladies
    Oh, sorry :o Maybe it's because I'm Special :D

We say that to our children when they are being precocious :p

Time to put my two pennies in I'm afraid :o

As somebody who has been a flylady for a good while (Hex - how long have we been here?) things have changed over the years. I definitely achieve more when I have a list and I have found many of the leaders suggestions extremely helpful over the years. Stars are fun and lots of people work so hard to get them.

For me though I want my list to be personal to fit in with my work, my home, my week. I want to add gardening jobs in the summer, food jobs if we are overstocked, financial jobs when I need to look at ISA rates or insurance is due. I don't want their to be rules as to what I can put on my list.

It is the achieving here and the community which counts. I sometimes read other people's lists and think - yes I need to renew my library books too. Other times I don't. I personally prefer reading short posts to long ones (so if you are still reading this I'm impressed cause I wouldn't be).

I'm not quitting for one minute (been here too long for that) and I am one of the posters who visits other boards and is happy to ask questions and chat in other places. For now though I'm using Piggers list as a template and making my own lists and not getting a star is fine.

Dusty I think the first round was mid 2006 :o and we've still not sorted our houses out, well ok I haven't :o I've moved twice too. It's changed loads since moggins did the thread originally, about 2007 I took over when moggins had to go. We nearly lost it too but negotiations with squeaky to ensure it stayed sensible, doable (which was when levels started and recognition at level 1) & was relevant to MSE/OS I got to keep it going phew.....then pigpen kindly took over (michelle did some too) when life got in the way. Must admit I struggle now to keep up with the thread.
One day I might be more organised...........

Maybe something that we SHOULD be doing, is when people ask off topic questions, guiding them (with links if necessary) to the appropriate place, much as the BGs do for new threads so that people are encouraged to use the rest of the site rather than using this thread for everything? I know it's a nice cosy place (most of the time), but a lot of the queries come up are answered elsewhere - it's just easier to ask a fellow flylady!

Back to the point... I need to locate my list as I've finally done some paperwork...

Friday - Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    ALL DONE
    :D:D:D:D
    Extras
    1. Wipe the skirtings, door in these rooms
    2. If you have a shelf.. empty and clean it - one done, one to go in the bathroom... 5 plus a huge bookshelf in the study  Maybe one a week...

and (because naturally I have to throw in my two pennorth) it's NICER to ask a fellow flylady.

there are a few boards I frequent according to my interests The preserver's year especially)...I often see Froddy down the Arms on games threads, for example, and I pop in to the consumer stuff a bit because I can BUT the trolls/flaming that goes on on some boards can be awfully off putting. If you're a regular on the site it's not so bad but some times new people really are cut no slack. I read for a LONG time before I plucked up the courage to post TBH...and that included this thread.
I have read the daily on occasion but I cannot keep up with it (I know Diva's on, often).
I personally would like to feel I could add my own extras to lists because I then feel pushed into actually getting stuff done!

I think I can say I managed one item from the list from each day of this last week, this weekend - including doing 4 loads of washing/dring and some ironing. No stars this week but will try harder next week.
