YEY!!!!! Green bin was completely empty so makes a perfect store for the black bags! If our council used a bit of common sense they'd tell people to use their green bins until collection day because they were emptied on Monday.... ahhhh feel much happier now.

Sorry to hear some of you are having issues too.

New- New Years Resolution- recycle more!!!

But that wouldn't help people like me who have more in their recycling bin that their other bin ;) Definitely recycle more... and compost... and freegle... and don't buy stuff with silly amounts of packaging...

I'm supposed to be collaborating with another new starter on a research paper for publication this month. He's driving me crackers - I put all my notes into the system mid-December, and he's FINALLY written his up - taking all mine out into an attachment (I'd suggested we write in different colours and then cut and paste to move stuff into the appropriate places) so I can't see where he has and hasn't covered the stuff I raised. And its still in note form... he put the notes in yesterday, then clearly told my boss he'd done it, so my boss has made masses of comments, clearly thinking that this was something that was ready for review :mad::mad:

I'm off to work on my OWN stuff :p

Flying... I've had a productive day - all the window wiping to deal with the ice/condensation means that all the frames/sills have been done, and most of the glass. I've also thoroughly cleaned the stove including the glass, ready to make a mess of it when I light it this evening! Suppose I'd better check the weather forecast too. I'm supposed to be going to the gym tomorrow morning, but my car is still under a snowdrift!

Mudders/Soapppie - I've got 5 Redwings eating the crab apples in the tree

Brilliant! And interesting about the heron Mudders - maybe his usual watering hole of a pond is frozen so he's looking for an alternative. This would be a good time to add a plea:

Please remember to feed the birds and try to provide them with some water that's not frozen

Hugs Jo-jo - hope the doc sorts it out pdq

Koolkid - what I do at Christmas when the bin collections are up the creek is to triple sort - recycling, non-recycling but not likely to go off (like iffy plastics, silver foil etc) then stuff likely to go mouldy or eaten by foxes. The last is what gets put in the bin, the middle one gets put beside the bin and the recycling is, um, put in the recycling bin.

    Good luck for tomorrow ajmoney

Decluttered another few thousand words from my head. Also a rather delicious corned beef hash for lunch. Don't know what I'm doing for dinner yet but I suspect it'll be something comforting like stew!

DD's dolls house is now down and as much as possible stored in the avon box (they're a fantastic size :D:T ) now I'm trying to fix her bed  Meanwhile she's sat on the floor surrounded by stationary sorting out the felts that work and those that don't :D Only doing babysteps with her but we're still clearing stuff :T:T Off to go and poke a long stick down the leg of DD's bed to try and undo the end cap so I can screw the k nob back on :rolleyes:
