I too have bin problems...they are full to bursting! as we have wheelies we are not 'allowed' to put out any lose bags but at this rate I will never catch up with collections again!

Our council have said they will collect black bags if left at the side of the wheelie bin.... but won't be coming until next Tuesday

Just going to see if the green bin is empty- I could store the bin bags in their if not

Have got to the bottom of the ironing basket again :j:j:j
Wont be getting the childrens rooms done as they are 19/17 and think they should keep them clean themselves. Having said that once DD is back in Uni I usually have a blitz through there as she wont be here to mess it up again :rotfl:
If the back room can be likened to a spare room then maybe that can be partly substituted Toots?
On hold now as DF's laptop has died a death so she is bringing it over for me to look at - probably work on that for the rest of the night!!!

Valli - DS's room. Been there and done that :o:eek: hence the reason I dont intend entering again
G&B - Good news on DDs tests but shame about the rabbit
JoJo - Hope it is nothing to worry about
Koolkid - Have got 5 binbags out the back as I missed the collection this week  Miscalculated which day the bank holiday was so thought the collection would be a day late :o I have double bagged them and am just keeping my fingers crossed. Seems to be the cats that are the worst problem here
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun ;)

Try being nice to your neighbours. Some people (like me) never fill their bins up. We haven't had a collection for several weeks, but the bin is less than 1/4 full. Recycling is more of a problem, so I may have to have several walks up to the village hall.

School is staying closed, although they've got a digger clearing the carpark so if it snows again it should be OK for staff to come in on Monday. Only one teacher lives in the village (plus all the TAs) but we can't really open the school with so few staff. Ironically another reason is that if we open and the pupils who are driven can't make it, it'll affect our attendance numbers, whereas if we stay shut... we'll be fine . So we need some ideas as to how we can open to walkers only without impacting on the stats... and next time hope the staff get snowed into the village so that they want ths school open to give them something to do!

Am getting odd bits done - but not a great deal! Managed to clear out both fridges and clean, so feel a bit virtuous! had to go to nearby village to meet the children I'm to be tutoring this term today - DH drove as I loathe snow! Worst bit was our own road (we live at the top of a hill in a close, so not too much traffic to keep road clear - we got stuck trying to get back! Glad it wasn't me driving. DH very patient and managed to get us moving again in the end.
So glad I no longer have to make decisions on whether or not to close the school! Whatever decision made means not pleasing someone! Sometimes I think that's been the best thing about retirement!
Our non-recycling bin was collected today, but not the food bin. Don't know whether they'll try again tomorrow or leave it until next week.

    Think twice before spending anything!

  • We have a dreadful time with binbags here - seagulls rip them to shreads and make a dreadful mess. Tis quite common practice to throw a blanket or old sheet over the binbags outside and is normally enough to keep most vermin away.
No flying here except onto my bum in the snow.
