Why all the flaming!!
Somebody does us the courtesy and favour of alerting us to what may be a bargain and gets a load of grief for the trouble, what incentive is there to return with any future finds,
How about a simple thank for the post but not for me.
Much more productive don't you think.
Time after time this happens its no wonder people are posting less and less.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I wasnt suggesting you could go there now and pick up a bargain this minute
You must be kidding, if it was down to Phil he'd by 10 ::)So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0 -
I am grateful to the OP for taking the time and trouble to post, and sad at people on this site that rip into people that are trying to help us find a bargain
However, I paid less than the prices that have been mentioned here, for a "not-refurbished" Dell Dimension 2400 recently, and these prices don't strike me as that brilliant for a refurbished product...
So it is fair to warn people of that, IMNVHOThanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0 -
Agreed not the best prices, but the OP did say to keep an eye on it in the future.
So might be worth reviewing every once in a while.0 -
I'm not sure that these are all "refurbished" products really, I think also they are things such as canceled orders (dell claim to build to order still i think?)
anyhow, my main point was an easier link for them...

guys - im afraid you (and i) are smaill fish in a very big pond on this one.
there is a whole website dedicated to bargain hunting on the dell outlet.
you wont get a good spec machine on the website by simply looking.
these guys are computer programmers that have written programs to nab all the bargains so they only appear for a nano second.
you may find some bargains - but they will be the crumbs these guys dont want.
new machines are dropped at 35 minutes past the hour.

What's the url for that website? No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
I got a P4 2800 with 80gig HD, 256mb RAM, DVD writer and usual kit (no monitor) for £246. I priced the same machine in the new machine section and it was around £500. I thought it was a pretty good deal.0

Despite Geoggy's cynicism, there are plenty of bargains to be had if you are patient. There are also lots of people to give advice about Dell systems, and who pass good bargain systems they have on to anyone looking for systems for personal use.
edit: I'm not entirely independent though, as I am a moderator on that forum.0
