  • Just gone through first 2 pages of the competitions thread and entered as many as I could:) Feel like I've done something at last!
I've decided to update my figures just once a month so hopefully will then see a big difference!

Good news kids are off school and being good and not asking for stuff. Stocked up on baking ingredients at weekend so they have been keeping themselves amused. We are going to have a day out tomorrow and maybe again later in the week but we have Merlin passes so will use them - maybe Alton Towers tomorrow and Warwick Castle at weekend - depending on weather:).

Sadly dd no4 is not very well, she has asthma and is prone to colds and chest infections so may have to leave her at grandmas;) - I'm sure we can make it up to her later in year.

  • Evening. Went out today and nearly froze to death. Theme park in the snow I must love my kids. :snow_laug

DDno4 is at Grandmas, decided to leave her there rather than drag her out in the cold. We did treat the kids to something warm to eat today but that is all we have spent so far this half term so not bad!

I have sorted out some stuff to list on ebay tomorrow - the kids have given me some of their old ds games to list:j Money saving and decluttering, what a result!:)

  • Hi, Well nearly at end of my week off and have been very good money-wise! :) Little one has been very ill - another chest infection, so we haven't been able to go out, so she has saved us a fortune ;) She went to Grandma's while we went to theme park on Wednesday - but she got worse after that, so I couldn't leave her (actually ended up at the hospital with her last night, missing Eastenders - that's dedication for you ;)) Anyway she's a lot better today :)

Like PA, I've had the % rate on one of my cc's increased - to 29.9%, so going to close that down and keep current rate until it's paid off.

Had a bad day yesterday. I knew that there was no money left in the bank, awaiting pensions, wages and tax credits this week, but knew I could transfer some from one of the kids accounts if I was desparate. Checked my account yesterday at about 10am and had £2.50 left! Checked again this morning and good old dh had spent £20 on the debit card on Thursday and they must have procesed it some time after 10am, as I was £18 overdrawn, dated yesterday. So annoyed - I've paid it off now, but I could have done that yesterday and avoided the charges. I might ring the bank on Monday and see if they are feeling kind. Also had long chat with dh about money -AGAIN but feel that I am wasting my time :(

Trying to stay positive as I know that I can make some over payments this week but sometimes feel that it is one step forward and two back:(

  • Dooohhhhhhhhhh:mad: - I am frustrated and cross for you.

Like me, you love your DH, but on occasion - couldn't you just kill him;) Just as I think I have my DH under control he casually mentions he has popped in the pub with a neighbour and used his debit card:eek: I didn't even know pubs took debit cards:rotfl: He said he couldn't 'not' buy him a pint.....£15:eek: worth of pints:eek: The one saving grace for him is that it didn't take us over our OD because I would have really killed him if it had done that. Anyway, he has agreed that it can come out of his weekly work allowance over the next month - so hopefully he will learn, and let the neighbour pay if it ever happens again:rotfl:

Glad your little one is feeling better:T

  • Hi, Well I've just spent the last half an hour reading everyone elses diaries and everyone is doing so well :T. Thought I'd just pop in and say that I'm still around and am going to go off and make a few payments and sort out my finances and then hopefully I will be able to update my signature and there will be a difference:o
My dh has promised me that he will sit with me this weekend and go through some figures and try and understand where I'm coming from, so wish me luck with this. :) If I can get him on board, it will make such a difference, both to my debt and to my happiness ;)

Hooray - just updated my signature and I have paid £1500 off my debt since my journey started on 2nd January!
I am particularly happy as dh has not jumped on board yet and I've actually had quite a busy month, with a couple of expensive family get togethers and birthdays and Valentines Day. I am hoping ;) that things will get even better now!
Hoping that this month the cars will run smoothly, the weather will be warm enough to not have the heating on constantly and if I'm lucky the kids will stop eating so I can save on the grocery bills:rotfl:

  • Well done Cialilerin - isn't it great when you see the debt total dropping (especially those numbers that relate to thousands;))

Good luck with the talk with your DH - hope he gets on board and understands the reasons you are working so hard to get debt free:beer:

  • Jst phoned Vodaphone and reduced the price of my call plan, only saving £5 per month - but every penny counts. :)
Car insurance renewal date on Tuesday - I did the price comparisons for dh last week but he has done NOTHING with them so today I've written a to do list as a visual reminder - fingers crossed.;)
Have also requested that paypal pay £50 into my account and I've asked topcashback to pay £15, as soon as these are cleared they'll be used for an overpayment!:j Defeinitely got my money saving head on this morning - hope it lasts!
