:(Having a bad day today.
Started by spending £70 on petrol!! Done a lot of driving around this week for work and while I can claim my milag and parking expenses back, I have to pay upfront and won't get it back till March wage packet. As a result of all the driving - I have hardly been in office all week so I'm exhausted and on top of that got a lovely head cold!! Even had to cancel going out with colleagues tonight - shameful!
Been reading PA's diary and loved it when she worked out how much interest she pays each money, so setting myself that task for tomorrow!
Checked weeks spending diary - more shame...
Petrol:£140
Childcare: £70
Car parking: £10
Groceries: £94.92
Postage:£7.20
Car tax: £104
Prescriptions: £14.40
Leaving collection: £3
Child Dance lesson: £3
Dinner Money - kids: £25
Lunches : £7.65
Work biscuits £3
spent loads on petrol - should last a couple of weeks but still over budget.
Guess when I break it down it's not too bad and next week shouldn't be as bad.
Alas got confused and thought I didn't pay council tax this month but it's actually Feb and Mar I don't pay!!!! Still should be able to manage thoughProud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
Good luck with the interest exercise....just don't depress yourself over it - just be determined to sort it out and have that extra money working for you as soon as you can.NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Hi Cialilerin,
Thought I'd pop in and see you as you did for me!
Just read through your diary, seems like you certainly have the bit between your teeth! Well done you.
Must be hard reigning in your DH, I have no idea, don't have one, but I always find it harder to be frugal when I am in a relationship of some sort, think it is some deep seated psychologial need to show I am independant and am able to provide! He does seem to be on board though!!
Hard work and lots of money with your 4 girls I am sure. You do seem to have a positive outlook generally, and wanting to do things for others in Hiati and the race for life is a real inspiration. :A (Sorry about your friend, its hard when potential mortality comes and smacks you in the face.)
I was just looking at your weeks spending, and was wondering about the prescriptions, and if this is related to your blood, and if it is going to be a regular expense for you? Would it be an idea to check out those yearly payments for prescriptions, I don't know much about it myself living in Wales where they are free. It might be worth a look?Pay off as much as you can in 2012 challenge No. 64: 328.75/2,5000 -
Thanks Dot, I was checking out the prescription stuff last night. I'm waiting for results on thyroid function and if that's playing up, I might be able to get my prescriptions for free, if not I'll definitely look at the pre-payment scheme.
I've been playing with the credit card payments, here goes:

OK, just checked out my interest payments. On the debts I listed earlier, we paid £249.71 in interest last month. I also paid £118.65 interest on my mortgage which I'm happy with but we do have great rate at the moment - tracker rate that can't go more than 1 point over bank of England base rate.
Guess the other interest could be better but to be honest, it's not as bad as I thought.
The scary thing is that I pay £813 per month on my debts - not including the mortgage. If I can clear my debts, we can have a lovely life with that spare money and that is what I am aiming for. Wish I could turn the clocks back, but then I guess I enjoyed spending it in the first place!!
Good news in I only have another 10 years on my mortgage. We took it out over 14 years as always worked in pubs previously so had no need for our own house and when we left, we realised that we needed to pay mortgage before dh retires at 65. He's a bit older than me!!!!! Anyway the way things stand at the moment and if all goes to target, we will be financially better off when he retires than we are now as the £1655.19 we pay on mortgage/debts now is more than his wages. So if we clear debts/mortgage we'll be beter off even without his pensionsProud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
