First day of rest of my life

Evening, well had a 'bad' day today with my depressiona and normally would have spent, spent, spent BUT been good and went to Asda to do my grocery shop. I was going to do an internet shop for delivery tomorrow but hate paying the delivery money when i'm money saving. Anyway, I wrote a list and took my 11 year old as my conscience! She's far more sensible than me and check everything I put in the trolley with 'do you really need that?'
She wants me to pay the debts asap cos I've promised if I pay them off before she finishes at secondary school, I'll pay for them to go on a big trip of lifetime! Anyway, did my shopping and only spent money on things I needed:)
Looking forward to this week as get paid and lots of direct debits go out!! However, next weekend I'm having a mad one and I'm out Friday and Saturday night and Sunday lunch - I can't tell you how rare this is, there are times when I don't go out for 19 months at a time!!!! The point is I will be spending money but am already thinking of ways to save (like asking dh to pick me up instead of getting taxi home;))
This week is a little mad at work so likely to be working crazy hours again but will make sure I update diary regularly.Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -

Hi Cialilerin
Well done to your DD for being so sensible - and you are so lucky to have such fab family. I am so pleased they are supporting you all the way through the journey to be debt free. That will be a great help (and push for you to do it;)).
Make sure you enjoy the weekend of going out - when my kids were growing up going out was rare as well - I think it's call 'life interrupted' - ie interrupted by children, housework, work, money worries - so you just make sure you enjoy yourself girl;)NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Hi there  - just read your diary - well done on the progress - I think getting the family on board is half the battle.
As regards to the PND yep have been there and can sympathise in what you were/are going through it takes time and you must be kind to yourself.
Ps I think the big holiday when the debt is paid off is a fab idea and incentive!
Will look forward to seeing your progress:)

Morning!
Had a good think last night as it was pay day and I realised that all my priorities had changed. Normally I would be thinking how much I could buy this month , but now I'm wondering how much I can save:).
Anyway this will be my first real (pay day) month as a money saver so looking forward to seeing how I do. My car tax is due at end of month, but this should be helped along by fact that I don't have to pay my council tax this monthI also got slightly more than nomal in wage packet this month as I remembered to claim my expenses last month! This will cover the car tax completely!!
Got to work now - or at least get the kids ready to go out - harder than you'd think :rotfl:will think of more ways to save later!!
By the way, very worried that I'm becoming addicted to smiley faces:)

Morning Cialilerin
Isn't it amazing how quickly your mindset changes when you look at your debt positively:j My payday isn't till the end of the week and I am chomping at the bit to get some more paid off those debts.
Good news about the car tax. I used to love Feb and March because it gave me extra spending money (no council tax or water rates) - however I am now looking forward to it because it will help me cover the MOT costs and push clearing the debts along just that bit faster.
Have a great day.NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Had some sad news today - a friend of mine with 2 young children, has just been diagnosed with stage 2 cancer - so decided to do something positive and going to join up to the Race For Life this year. I've persuaded my sister and maybe our children to join us! Got to get fit now so don't let people down.
Anyway on a more positive note - I had another £2 coin today. A couple of direct debits have come out so I've been able to update signature. Frustrated that it's not happening quicker but delighted that my thinking has changed so much! I have an hsbc credit card debt of £596, it's the smallest of my debts and one of the highest apr's, so my goal is to pay that off cos think I'll get a buzz from paying off one debt in full. Not sure if I'll manage it in 100 days but I'm aiming for it - wish me luck!

Evening!
OK, nearly fell over in shock when I checked bank account tonight and saw a debit payment to Tesco for £5.46!! Convinced it must be an error as knew dh had come on board as dfw  Imagine my surprise when I realised that it was in fact his fault.
We had sat and planned our weekly meals on Sunday, written shopping list based on this and myself and no 2 daughter had bought the groceries. Bearing in mind that dh prepares dinner most nights, we do keep meals simple, so tonight was sweet and sour chicken, using a cooking sauce. When I returned from grocery trip, he did point out that we'd need more sauce so we agreed to add that to budget. Anyway on arrival at Tesco's he struggled to resist temptation and decided that as I had shown a flaw by buying wrong size bottle of sauce, there was a possibility that I may also have fogotten the rice, so he bought more! He also bought couple of other bits which he now can't remember. I was so angry that he had, in my opinion, wasted a WHOLE £4, I thought I had to write two whole paragraphs about it. Even as a write, I realise it's trivial but I have credit cards to pay off. It's official, I am obsessed:rotfl:
On bright side, I made the kids check the purses and confiscated all their £2 coins:rotfl:Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
Your poor DH - at least he bought food for the whole family and didn't waste the money on something for himself. Think of the positive side, that at least it will SAVE money off future shopping bills because you will already have the rice etc.
It could have been worse, he could have bought a sandwich and drink or something just for himself at lunch. Sounds to me like he is onboard with DFW - just needs a tiny, tiny bit more guidance.
Sad news about your friend - sending positive vibes to both of you.NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000
