First day of rest of my life

Hello,
Well I'm still off work - we're classing it as a virus but I'm also depressed. Not sure what came first - was I so low with depression that I can't shake off virus or is the virus making my depression worse, anyway it's a bit of a vicious circle and I'm struggling with it. All I do is sleep all day.
On the bright side, I must be saving a fortune in petrol not having to drive to workI have been to low to spend money (so I know it's serious
)but again we have struggled towards the end of the month. The £200 I hoped to save went on car repairs but dh put £200 on cc for a pair of glasses - 2 steps forward - 3 steps back. Last week he bought some pop and sweets for the kids and when I asked where he got money he said 'it's ok there's £400 in bank', which was true, sadly there were also nearly £400 worth of dd's due out, he said he forgot about that!!!!!!
On a brighter note, I contacted British Gas about the free loft insulation as I'm a duel fuel customer and they are coming out to do survey next month. However, they have also doubled my electric dd - I can't believe how much prices have risen! I'm going to ring and complain and see if I can reduce payment - just need to get the energy to pick up the phone!Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -

Hi Cee, glad to see you posting, hopefully that's a good sign and you'll be feeling better again soon.
My sister is a spender on the manic part of her illness, thankfully it doesn't last long but it must add to the illness when you realise what's happened when you've been ill, huge hugs xxxWeight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Thank you for the support - it means a lot xx
Good news - I was able to transfer some money from topcashback and paypal - so haven't gone over my od limit this month. In fact I have £14 left on od and payday tomorrow
I also phoned British Gas - what a nightmare. We are duel fuel but somehow they have put electric in dh name and gas in mine, so I couldn't discuss the electric bill with them, nor can I see both accounts online unless I register them separately and under different email addresses:mad: Anyway, I spoke to a really helpful woman there who has had to close down dh electric account and set up new one in my name (after I had to phoen them back when he was there for him to give permission), she was also able to reduce the payment for my dd - will now be paying £99 a month, still huge but better than before. Going to really be careful with electric now. Going to put all the phone chargers on one extension and have that on a timer for 5 hours a night. And hopefully won't have to use tumble dryer too much again till winter.
That's the good news - bad news is that my dds 3 and 4 both have sickness bug so I have been up since 3. Of course they feel better now so no chance of a rest todayProud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
Hi C
Just popping in to give you big hugs xxThe past is over & done & cannot be changed. This is the only moment we can experience - Louise Hay"You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection."-- Buddha0 -
Hi again,
Well I'm just popping in quickly to acknowledge that the last couple of months have been awful. I am still off work and feeling quite low. I have had no motivation to come on here or to save money. In fact I have done the opposite
- went to Turkey for 10 days all inclusive (cost £1700 plus approx £400 spending money!!)
- spent £3k on a car (part x our old car so only cost £2K!)
- bought a puppy for £150
While I know we needed the car (the old one was actually starting to scare me) and the holiday was an attempt by dh to pull me out of my depression (it also allowed the kids to get fed during their Easter holidays cos I wasn't up to cooking) we are now in even more debt! Currently nearly £55k.
However, while I am not feeling much better - I have now come to grips with money again - actually sat down and filled in my SOA again and realised that the debt will just bring me down further if I don't cop on to myself. So once again I am going to get my head down and start sorting my debts out. I know I keep saying this but I am very much one day at a time.Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
Hi C, sometime we need to recharge our batteries and even though you have added to debt at least you are now back on board, good to see you back and look forward to more posts from you.0

Hi Cee,
Your health is more important than debt and i think it was lovely of your DH to take you all away on holiday, so hope you had a fabby time.
What kind of pup? What age?? Ours is being a bit of a pain but that's the risk with a second hand one, not socialised properly and now so big it's difficult to do it but need to persevere and stop making excuses!!
