  • Thank you both. I went shopping today and stocked up on baking stuff - great minds and all that!!
PWD - he did get a letter I have just found out, so that will be great. To be honest I'd rather thay upped the minimum payment - it stops the temptation of whether to make a payment or treat myself ;)

  • Thank you Funny!

Went out to look for a dog this afternoon in one of my moments of madness and on way to dogs home, the gearstick on my car stuck. Now I think this may be Gods way of saying 'what are you thinking you mad woman - you have 4 kids, 2 cats and a contrary husband!' Anyway car booked into garage on Friday:(
We still went to dogs home in dh's car, it was full of Staffies which I'm not keen on - although sis has a lovely one. THere were some extremely cute puppies, but not at home often enough to care for one, so I think that this is another sign that we are not yet ready!
Tomorrow I am going to spoil the kids (again!) WE are going ice skating, then for extra £1, we can have a game of bowling. Then off to Pizza Hut - kids eat free with each adult meal, so will pay for 3 and get 3 free. Will i get away with sharing a refillable drink? WEll, I'll try! ;)
I have a few things to ebay so will put them on this weekend and wait for next free listing days for the bigger things. I have to start getting organised!!

  • Ohh C sorry about the car, hopefully it won't cost much to sort.

I'm with you on the dog temptation, our old one had to be put down last March and i struggled till November before we got another. DH wasn't happy as financially not good having another mouth to feed etc but i don't think it's a home without a dog. That's not to say i question my own sanity when i'm getting up at 5am to walk him :D but he's fab, despite the ripped sofa and chewed utility room:rotfl:
Have a great day with the kids!

Hi, Well I am just getting over a cold or something. Think i may be a little run down,so more susceptible to things. I have been off work for 3 days!!! - feel so guilty after having last week off for half term!
Moneywise - the car cost £200. And that involved us running round scrap yards looking for a part - complete nightmare:( I am sick of the car. It is an old Renault people carrier and expensive to get parts for, the milage is very high on it and I am sick of it. I want to buy a Ford Galaxy but I know I can't afford a decent one at the mo. He has said we should just get an old one fr now - but then I'm just swapping one old anger for another. I have suggested we pulll our belts in EVEN more for 4 months and try and get £1000 together, add that to the £1000 we will hopefully get for the old car, then if necessary put another £1k on cc and get a half decent car. He is in agreement at the moment.
Good new is bank has offered us a consolidation loan at 7.5%. We could pay off some of our more expensive cards. THey have suggested £10k over 5 years - costing £199 per month. That will be cheaper than the cc minmum payments and will at least be paying off so I am thinking about it - I have even thought of asking for £15k which will pay off most of the more expensive cc's and the overdraft. The loan will also be in dh's name. Then I can concentrate on getting most of the other debt on the lowest possible rates. We will then have about £25K of debt on cc's which I will try and reapy asap. My aim would be about 3 years, then I could always pay the loan off quicker if I could!
