Need New Tyres

Evening All!
I was hoping someone could help me find a good place to get new tyres.
My car was serviced on the 22nd Dec and the mechanic had ticked the amber box for 3 of my tyres so I'll need to get them replaced.
I'm going to have 4 new ones put on but I don't know where to go to get a good deal.
I live in the Scottish Highlands and we've got a few places I could go to but I was just wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

dont forget the spare (if you have one) it will age and will need to be rotated into the mix, if you haven'y already done it.
Thank you, I forgot about the spare!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

If you have three worn tyres and are replacing four - can I have the one that isn't worn?
Have you had a look and measured them to see how worn they are? New tyres come with7/8mm and the minimum depth for MOT is 1.6mm...0 -
The very best price we've had is in Alness & they are quick.
The garage is just behind the High St. They wholesale tyres to other garages, but fit them. It's always busy - which is a good sign, but for the life of me I can't remember their name - it's something like true tread. They have a car assessory shop on the main st & the garage is at the back.0 -

I'm replacing 4 because my dad told me that I'd probably get a better deal by going for all 4(buy 3 get one free kind of deal I suppose!)
The worn tyres are between 2-4mm.
Oh, and you're more than welcome to the 4th tyre!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Take the car to an independant tyre fitter (not kwik fit or similar, but a small independant), and just ask for the tyres to be checked. Don't tell them that you have been given an "Amber", just ask for a check which they should do free.
I say this because a year ago my car was serviced and all 4 tyres were marked as "red". 1 year later it passed MOT with those same 4 tyres and only got givem an advisory on one of the 4.
I did query with the garage who serviced what constituted a "red" mark, and they told me their company policy was any tyre with 5mm of tread or below- the legal limit being 1.6mm.
Out of interest does the garage that ticked them as red also supply tyres?
Also have you checked online, sites like blackcircles offer fairly good prices.0 -

I took it to a Ford garage as there's one on an industrial estate close to where I live so yeah they would be able to supply new tyres but they're so expensive! The service cost just over £142.00...was gobsmacked, wish someone had told me how expensive motoring is before I passed my test!!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

I can second blackcircles, you can have them delivered to and fitted at a garage locally. They used to be on topcashback but unfortunately aren't anymore.0

And the incident I mentioned with the "red" tyres was Volvo, part of the same group- possibly the same policies.
I would seriously recommend an independent check before you go any further!0 -
What size are the tyres?
Try www.blackcircles.com
There might also be garages (or scrapyards) in your area that sell part worn tyres. With one of my old cars it was so bad on tryes it was scrubbing one each month £11 at the scrappy and it would be sorted until the next monthThat was until I found £150 to get the tracking done and all 4 tyres replaced with cheapos - only had to replace one then in the next 18 months (puncture)
