I was awake between 2 and 5 last night with a gallbladder attackutterly horrific pain at the base of the ribs, couldn't sit, lay, stand, lean over in any way to ease it. It was like a huge rock was being constantly pushed into the top of my abdomen/bottom of my ribs. Freezing cold, 5 minutes later, sweating , 5 minutes later freezing. I have only had 1 as bad as this before and that was 9 years ago. I had been following a very low fat diet. When to my parents for a family event, had an indian takeaway and had the same thing. My mum had her had her gallbladder removed not long before that and said to drink some hot tea. I did, threw up and it 'released' the pain.
Took 2 cups but it did the trick, I threw up and then it settled about 10 minutes later...........I really don't know what triggered it because it gets a bit 'grumbly' if I eat loads of fatty food or jump from a diet to a fatty meal but this was just a normal day, if only that I added an extra CD sachet.
It has been a red light signal to me about my holiday though and I am going to be eating low fat, healthy things as much as possible. I am going to do SS+ this week, then 810 and then 1000. I wasn't going to go up to 1000 before my holiday but it's just not worth the risk of jumping from 810 up to whatever my intake will be. I really don't want to be that ill again, especially on holiday.
I can't see me getting much past my 28 pound goal on the challenge to have a few pounds in 'reserve' for the holiday but that doesn't matter.
Probably a stupid question, but have you seen your GP about this? Sounds horrific  you poor thing.:A

I had an ultrasound for gallstones in my early 20s because I kept getting groin pain and cough....wind... after eating chips of bacon rolls/lots of butter on toast. Nothing was found, that was the start of it and I knew that stuff like chips from a chip shop would always give me that pain. Then I had the bad attack at my parents when I was 31. The next one was whilst doing SW in 2005. That wasn't as acute but went on for a lot longer and was mostly behind my right shoulder blade. One weekend I had a very bad and slightly unusual upset stomach with a fever, my nanna thought it was colitis, normal GP wasn't there, the one who I saw said it was possibly the start of an ulcer from the anti-inflammatories I take but it settled down.
To be honest, saying it's a gallbladder attack is a bit of self diagnosis, but I've mentioned the pain a couple of times over the years and just get a bit of a 'well if it gets worse come back - and losing weight will help'.
It's always after a jump from low fat to full fat but yesterday didn't fit that pattern.
Oh well, tummy is a bit gurgly today but i'm fine other than that. (and pooped after losing 3 hours sleep plus throwing up!!!)"Stay Wonky":D

I've just spent about half an hour reading posts on this forum, and you're all awesome, and I want to come and play please!
I've been trying to lose weight for what feels like forever, and it's just turned into a viscous circle of paying out a small fortune to WW-losing some weight-losing track-feeling embarrassed-missing meetings-cancelling-feeling guilty and binging-putting it all on again then some-paying out a small fortune to ww...
Crazy. So, I'm going to try and do it at home seeing as, by this point, I have about 14 copies of the food guides...

Louise,
On the spreadsheet, has my 2lb weightloss fallen a row and ended up on debtfreefuture's row?
I know it shouldn't matter - but I love seeing my weight loss on the spreadsheet!
Do you think you could amend my overall target (columnfrom 14lbs to 28lbs, as I've very nearly loss the first stone and the second one doesn't feel quite so overwhelming. In fact, if I hold onto the bathroom sink just a bit, I can make the scales say it now
Cheers all

Forget what has happened 10-20 years ago. This isn't normal. I think you need to get this thing looked at. x:A

bb~I agree with Toto.
I have it every now & then & one night I could hardly breathe as the pain was so bad.
NHS 24 were worse than useless & at the end of the day I am a coward.

Nothing lost this week  I've been pretty good too.
Why is it that I can lose steadily for weeks on end, then have one week where nothing comes off and my whole mood changes. I feel like giving up, yet again. Stupid diets :rotfl::A
