Pip so sorry to hear your news but something good will turn up by the law of averages (you might need to look out for it though) and in the meantime try and stay focused. I worked for local government for 17 years thinking it was the way forward (security, public service etc etc) however after life socked me in the mouth big-style I made the decision to leave and took a job actually working with people again instead of being behind a desk - appreciate I actually made the decision to go and it wasn't forced upon me like in your instance however it's the best thing I ever did ;) And as you are an LG employee you should get support, fair terms and payout etc. x

A PAD of £31.30 for me today please Green split between £30 Credit Union savings A/C have only just joined and I think I may grow to love them - safe haven for savings at reasonable interest, access to loan at reasonable interest rate (gonna use it as emergency pot for when car needs work or roof falls off) and ethical too - result) and £1.30 to VSP.

and how long is this post?! not my usual style at all :p

  • Pippo,
Sorry to hear that, happened to me twice in three months last year and I can appreciate how miserable you must feel.
First time, was working for a private prison and the government were reducing prisoner numbers in just our prison, so instead of cutting back on the # of people dealing with prisoners they got rid of two people from the same dept, ie me n my mate, cos they thought we didnt really have much to do all day. Heard on the radio yesterday that a public prison elsewhere had MPs and MSPs fighting for them cos they were afraid of losing their jobs due to other prisons being built. I was so mad I nearly crashed the car. :mad:I took the decision to go back to college (hoping to be a professional student again lol) and I know that though it doesn't seem it you'll be just fine. If you need to chat just pm me x

sorry to hear that pippo, I was made redundant 10 years ago from local govt. and in some ways it was the best thing that happened. It forced me to have a rethink. I also lost my most recent job in September last year and actually, being unemployed has made me more focussed on paying off the debt. Previously I had just made the minimum payments and was coasting along, with a bit extra now and again, from scratchies etc. but have paid off more in the 3 months since losing my job than in the year up to that point.

Use any help available to you, something will turn up.

PaD today is overpayment on Provi - £150 and that is one of them completely GONE!!!! so only one left to go, should be clear by April and then this money can go off the cc's.

Had to go to Bradford for interview yesterday, shelled out on coach fare and when I got there they gave me a form to claim it back, and gave me lunch, so quite happy with that. Not sure if I want the job, right up my street, but Bradford is a bit far to commute. Will know by end of next week.

Someone had interviews this week but I've forgotten who - sassers maybe?? Anyhow, best of luck to whoever it was, and sorry I can't remember/find the post.
