Hi everyone!
Well done to everyone who has cleared cards/loans etc wooooo go PAD team! Treat yourselves to a few :beer::beer: and get started on the next one hehe. Danko did you say you had an observation? Hope it went well!
I'm making baby steps of progress - my pad is just 5p today but every little helps as people have quite rightly said.
Sorry to hear about your redundancy Pippo, keep your eyes open and do what you can and at least you have us lot and MSE to keep you going.
Mary, my best mate did a tour in Helmand before christmas (with the navy, he works on helicopters though he wasn't carrying his boat across the deserts ) and he really enjoyed itwhatever floats your boat(!) I suppose. Now we've got him back and he's going to Norway next, but my other friend has gone somewhere else in afghan with the raf. Bloody nightmare! They most certainly will appreciate the chocolates!
Hope everyone its glad it's friday, I certainly am even though I have a pile of marking staring at me across the room - might throw a blanket over it so I can't see it haha

. It's a bit like looking for Welsh people in Belgium.
I hope he stays safe but maybe his chances will be improved if he doesn't go looking for trouble.
He thinks he'll end up doing a tour of both, wee mite is only 17...so he won't be in any danger until he turns 18!
As for looking for Welsh people in Belguim...have you tried to look for a Scot in Scotland? (me and F_F excluded obviously) :rotfl:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

It's the RAF that he's in. He was in Air cadets for about 3years before he got accepted...he was only 15 when he got the letter saying he'd passed the interview stage and he got a special honour at his passing out parade for being the best there. Out of about 70 that started, he was amongst the 17 that was left after training. I'm really proud of all the things he has done and the places he has been already, he's got some amazing photos. He loves his job but I think that might be because he's young...he might change his mind when he has a family of his own!
Anyway, pad for me is another £1.00 please
Hope you've all had a fab day! xStarted PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Yeah I think thats true - Danny who's the one who's just got back from Helmand is single, and is raring to get back out there, he's loving it, but his mate recently applied to leave when his girlfriend got pregnant and he decided he just couldn't face the possibility of leaving them without him. It must change things.
Thats great how he got in there so young! It must be a fantastic experience in the early days if you're that way inclined - can't say it appeals to me though!

I sometimes think there are more Scots in my hometown than there are in Scotland - and I'm in southeast England.0 -
