I am going to do a SOA but I'm going to wait until my husband comes home (he's working away this week) so that we can do it together. Hopefully the small steps I'm taking on here will start to make a dent in things. Every little bit helps!

PAD makes a huge difference! When I 1st started here it felt like the world had finally lifted off my shoulders...it's even better because everyone on this thread isn't judgemental because we're all in the same boat :A

We all have times where we feel like we're getting no-where or something unexpected happends and we feel like we're back at square 1 all over again but never be too embaressed/shy to post if you need a bit of sympathy or advice!

  • Evening Padders!!

Nicky I was sorry to read about your mot, cars can be such a nightmare. Can you look around for a cheaper deal or befriend a mechanic?!!

Green your dog sounds like a nighmare!

Welcome to the newbies...you'll like it here...especially after hours when we get a bit...adult! (a-dult, not ad-ult! :D)

Well done to those clearing things (or being close to clearing things!)

My pad is another £12.00 please Keza!

Hope you've all had a fab day! x

Yes a lot of MOTitis around at the moment. Including the test cost and a couple of non MOT jobs I needed, it ended up costing me £304 - and I still need to get some new wiper blades (I'm amazed it didn't fail on that too). That's OK though. It is my livelihood after all. By the time I get tax/NI relief and make a couple of other calculations, the actual cost to me will be around £185. That's calculating the 85% (business use) of the £304 (about £260) and then calculating the tax and NI relief on the £260 (28% I think) which gives 260 - 75 (roughly) = £185 more or less. Ok so I have to lay all the money out but I will (eventually) benefit a bit with a tax bill that will be lower by about £119 (that's the £304 minus the £185). It never feels quite so bad when I view it that way :)
  • Bit upset by our mention in the newsletter...

The total didn't state that it was just for last year and they've called it repayment a day...

Naughty Martin...he doesn't pay enough attention to the challenges, although personally mentioning people was a nice touch :)

In the thread they picked it up from fermi made it very clear that it was just short of half a million in 2009.

    Hi everyone!

Didn't get time to post yesterday so I'll lump it in with todays, I'll also post for tomorrow as I've got a bit of a busy day and might not be able to post. So for the 3 days its Tuesday = £1.81 Wednesday = £10 and Thursday = £1.38 totalling £13.19

Random numbers I know, there is some method as it's the amounts I know will round my account down on those days!

    xx
