    total £301 xxx
Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).
  • Happy Friday peeplets!

PAD today is £12.31 into savings (£12 rounding down, 31p STC).

I noticed today that my savings have just peeped over the £700 mark :j I know this is probably small beans to some people, but this is the largest amount I've EVER had in savings. In my non-MSE days that would have had a little minus in front of it on my credit card statement...plus another zero  So, happy days! AND it's the weeeeeekeeeend. Soon. Roll on 5pm :o

    Hope you have marvelloso weekends.

Ah, shame about the pancakes :( Do you know what went wrong? Was the mixture not quite right? I used a recipe from BBC/Delia Smith and it was good. Glad I didn't leave OH to cook them though.....they would've ended up all over the side and floor I think! :rotfl::rotfl:

Ah sounds familiar! OH and I had a massive row on Tuesday night......over the making of pancakes! This was caused by 2 factors: (1) OH was making a complete b*lls up of it, (2) my deep frustration about being able to do stuff, like making pancakes! (everything is all lovey dovey now!)

Oh dear! Glad all is OK now though.

OH knows he's useless at making pancakes, or anything that involves the frying pan. When I told him I was going to make them, his (panicked) response was 'I don't have to cook them do I. I can't do that xxxx! I always mess it up!'. Hahahaha bless him. And he's right, you should see what happens to the eggs he tries to fry! hahahahaha

Sounds extremely familiar - OH was trying to convince me that being unable to make pancakes does not make me a failure when I noticed a strange smell. OH had left the frying pan and the slice that we had been using to flip them on the hob. And had forgotten to turn the hob off. Frying pan is now in the bin and the slice is slightly melted :o

    Copied from my diary thread:

    Hi All

Got a result with Southern Electric today. My gas and electric bills arrived this morning (same company for both). I have overpaid for my electric and underpaid for my gas. Gave them a ring and they are transferring some of the electric overpayment to cover the gas shortfall. They are also going to refund the remaining amount to my bank account - so £150 is winging its way to me! woohoo!:j Then they reviewed my monthly DDs for both, based on my usage for the last year. My gas DD is being increased by £16 a month but the electric DD is being decreased by £33 a month, which means overall I shall be £17 a month better off. Double woohoo! :j

Once the £150 hits my bank account I shall be able to pay a nice big chunk off the Evil Egg card! :j

OH forgot to turn the hob off after making spag bol for dinner the other night - 2 saucepans burnt (1 for the meat sauce and 1 for veggie one)! Luckily I can't do anything wet at the moment (got to keep my dressing and wound dry) so OH had the job of scrubbing the pans - ha! ha! That'll teach him!

What really infuriated me was how he was suddenly the expert on pancake making when I have been making them for years and then he made a mess of it!

I can imagine! At least he was knocked down off his high horse though! hehe

I think some guys seem to think they have to be the best at everything. Like their worthless or something if they can't cook a pancake well! Silly. And woe betide anyone who tries to help them! If they let you, it's like an admission of defeat for them I think.

Generalisation I know, but I've seen it often.

Thankfully, OH knows his limitations in most areas. Like cooking or understanding payroll. But, he does have his moments and can go on and on for hours about engineering. I do try to listen, but a) it doesn't interest me as much as it does him and b) I don't understand it enough/have enough background understanding so I get completely lost at times! lol. Smile and nod Euro, smile and nod! :rotfl::rotfl:
