There are 5 airports in Holland, but they won't all fly to Aberdeen. The weather isn't too bad here today, but I know a lot of airports in the UK have shut, so that's probably why his flight was cancelled.
Do you know which airport he is at now? 8.30pm UK time or NL time? Has he been provided with food and drink (or a voucher for this)?
I've no idea where he is! The airport in Aberdeen is open but it's the weather over there that has stopped his flight from leaving. He is due to be leaving at 8.30 NL time I believe. He's my neice's daddy and she'll be really disappointed of he can't make it home, she's the apple of daddy's eye and will make my sis' life a misery until he gets home :rotfl: The guy that's going to Holland to relieve him is stuck in Liverpool as there are no flights leaving from there either.Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

OK, just checked and he can only to Aberdeen from Schiphol (Amsterdam) or Groningen.
As far as I know, Schiphol airport is fine right now (I work 5 minutes away), but not sure about Groningen. It's further North so it's possible it's affected by weather today.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Mmmm, had another look and the only flight to Aberdeen at 8.30pm, is from Schiphol in Amsterdam with KLM. Can't understand why it was cancelled though. The extra security could be causing issues though.

Do you think that they mind receiving dribs and drabs as long as I make the minimum payment as well??
Personally I don't care if they do mind. I sometimes only pay a few pence to my credit cards and they haven't complained yet. Some online systems only let you pay a minimum of a pound but mine (Natwest) lets me pay as little as 1p.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Just back to add that ive just spoken to my Nan, also in Manchester and she confirmed shes heard/seen infromation that we're in a state of emergency re the police etc.
Apparently they've had many calls from people about roads needing gritting/being stuck/stranded/cars blocking streets etc so are now on "emergencies only"

I'd say that's the kind of thing it relates to :rotfl:
I work in Manchester and did make it into work today, but came home. It's pretty bad, but most Motorways are ok. I travel on the M62 and I've sen it worse - they've kept all lanes open so no complaints from me. However there weren't many in the office.
When we only really get one week of snow a year, I think the councils can be forgiven for not having months supplies of grit
As for Canada - doesn't everyone drive a 4x4 or snow plough?!
I think for many it's an excuse for a skive0 -
