Hey, I've just heard (from my Mum), that Manchester has been declared a state of emergency due to the snow and the police are now only responding to life threatening calls.

Anyone in the area? Is it true? I've tried searching online but can't find anything about it. Plenty about the snow etc, just not this part in particular.

Sassers - so sorry to hear your sad news - lost my elderly boy on 27th Dec and can still see the little snowy mound of earth out the window now (sniff)

  • Hey EURO

Im in Manchester and to be fair, it is quite bad, I hadnt heard we were now in a state of emergency though

We have a fair few inches of snow and its quite deep.Ive had my onine shopping order cancelled, my post office isnt open, my brother down the road is snowed in as are many other people.
The two schools my daughters go to are both closed, buses are even less effecient than usual and its freezing!!! but other than that I think were doing ok lmao

There are people everywhere with shovels and apparently were almost put of grit
TBH even if I had a car which at the minute I dont have...i still wouldnt be able to drive the thing

Hi Everyone, another £1 today which leaves me £1 in my purse for emergency coffee or to add to tomorrow's Pad
  • Hey all

Just back to add that ive just spoken to my Nan, also in Manchester and she confirmed shes heard/seen infromation that we're in a state of emergency re the police etc.

Apparently they've had many calls from people about roads needing gritting/being stuck/stranded/cars blocking streets etc so are now on "emergencies only"
