but there's a reason for what's happened. PC dying meant I got ex's name off the PC when I booted up, kitchen flooded meant the guy next door came and helped me and I got to know him better, being snowed in meant I learnt to spend time on my own.
I agree, fantastic positivity! I think I'll take from yours that every cloud does indeed have a silver lining - thanks for helping me remember this one too!0 -
Respect for your positivity, :T person after my own heart, wish you were my friend living next door.
took 18 months to get to this stage, after a 15 year long relationship that broke up horribly, I'm now a nearly 40 year old woman at college stressing that I won't get my place at uni, so the living in the moment thing is going into overdrive at the moment! And the fact I had too much wine on Christmas night and blew "210 on Jo Malone - there's half a month's rent gone! Still, things happen for a reason, at least I will smell nice all year!0 -
You'll sleep better tonight if you've done today what you could have put off until tomorrow.
Treat others as you'd expect to be treated yourself.
And in certain situations, see all, hear all, say nothing.0 -
My mantra - Don't sweat the small stuff
Life is far too short to spend worrying or moaning about things that really don't matter. Think about how important something really is before you let it ruin a day.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Oh I dunno, I dont really have a 'field' but I think it would be something about not wasting time waiting for life to sort things out for you, take matters in your own hands. I am terrible for being discontented, I want the world and all its neighbours, but always seem to find excuses never to get out there and go for those things I want. I hate to think of others feeling the same....so for 2010, I think I would advise to make things happen for yourself, by yourself, thats what I am going to do.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0

As for quotes, my granny has a few, the one that most sticks in my mind, was her telling me never to expect to get back what I give out...or I will just end up disappointed. She is quite right. She also used to ask me why I worried about so many things...apparently it always comes out in the wash :rotfl: and you know, it does :T:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0 -
Apart from 'what goes around comes around', I also use 'he who dares - wins' from Del Boy (not the SAS). Useful in small businesses! Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

seize the day - I take this to mean make every day count, use the moment/the opportunity that every day offers
Do one good deed every day
Don't look back in anger (who sang that ? Oasis ?)
shed the baggage (the "toxic", negative people, unhappy memories, useless routines etc)
Eat Less Move More
Lastly - drink more water !

My one is one from on here- 'this too will pass'. Everything is just a phase so make the most of it, but don't stress too much about it either.
Also I'm a big believer in it being far better to regret things you have done, rather than regretting not doing things- seek forgiveness not permission!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Always do your best to make sure you are not relying on anyone who has promised you money keeping that promise - be they an individual or an employer. Try and make sure there is some spare cash to hand to cover any "let-downs".
I doubt there are any honest/responsible people out there who've got to midlife without someone somewhere letting them down about money due.:rolleyes:0
