Had the day off work today so managed to get quite a lot done. OH and I got up early and went to try and finish off the Christmas shopping and buy some food to keep us going until our Tesco delivery at the end of the week.
The snow has all gone :j but it was very icy again this morning. Managed to get some really cute baseball boots that look like Ladybirds (red with black sequin spots) for the twins as part of their Christmas and some other bits and bobs. Just need to get some things I've ordered online delivered and buy a couple of other things and my Christmas shopping is finished. :j Still need to add the finishing touches to OH's gran's heat pad though.
Once we got home we did some cleaning and tidying and I got rid of the ironing pile. Also got the Christmas tree up and decorated whilst OH made roast beef for dinner. The cats have started eating the tree already  - it's artificial! Stupid cats. :rotfl:
Off to my Aunt's funeral tomorrow so not looking forward to that.Working in the afternoon afterwards but should be on training so hopefully not too strenuous.

Sorry again about your Aunt - it's never nice, but seems worse at this time of year doesn't it?
I'm soooo jealous that you've done all your ironing!!! If you fancy some more - just holler
Glad that the snow's gone - ours too this week and I'm glad to see the back of it - but have heard we're in for more this week0 -
If you need any more ironing, just give me a shout! Mine is now in danger of being stuffed in a bin bag under the stairs!

Thanks mac and gilli - the funeral went well and the priest was able to speak about my aunt from first-hand experience which made it a bit more personal - he knew her quite well as she was fairly active in his church and with the local school. There was quite a big turn out at the church and my mum's cousins came down from Dundee as well.
Sitting in the church was difficult - always have an overwhelming feeling of wanting to run away when I'm sitting through a funeral. My mum was quite upset and my brother was in tears so couldn't even look at them in case I started as well, my sister was the same. It was -6 so freezing when we went to the burial as well.
Thanks for the offers of ironing but no thanks! :rotfl: I hate it and there's only the two of us - how is there so much to do?
Have started my knitting practice again, not so slow this time but still not quick either. I've forgotten how to cast off as well so will need to get my mum to show me again.
Cats are still eating the artificial Christmas tree.:mad: So lovely piles of cat sick with fake pine needles in it on the carpet every morning. Stupid creatures. :rotfl:
Went out for lunch with OH as he is off for the rest of the week - went to Pizza Express as had Tesco vouchers. Think I ate too much though as still feeling a bit sick now.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Casting off - all stitches on left hand needle, presuming you are right handed, knit 2 stitches, pass the first one over the second, so you now have one stitch on right hand needle. Knit another stitch, pass the first stitch over that one, carry on until only one stitch left and drag the wool through.
There are other ways, but that's the one I use.
Does that make sense?

Thanks gilli, I'll give it a go and see how it turns out.
Did have to read it a couple of times but I'm a bit slow atm.
On early shift for a couple of days but have five days off over Christmas which will be good. :j Finally finished the heat pad for OH's Gran, it's not amazing but hopefully she will like it. :j Will post pictures when I can.
Would like to make some small things for a couple of friends but really just depends how much energy I have. Feeling really tired all the time and don't sleep well when working early shifts as worry about sleeping in.
Still waiting on some presents I ordered online to be delivered - getting a bit worried now in case they don't turn up. Have wrapped presents for OH's parents, just need to wrap his gran's and then we can post them. Have written a couple of Christmas cards so need to send them as well.
OH has quite a bad head cold so is feeling sorry for himself and drinking Lemsips. Have been looking everywhere for a hat that will fit him - most places have one size hats that are way too small.:rotfl: He either has a giant head or all the other men with giant heads buy their hats somewhere I haven't thought to look. :rotfl: I think a large from Next will fit but can't find any he likes. Beanie hats just make him look like a mugger/burglar - in his own words.:rotfl: The only hat he even vaguely took a fancy to was some kind of fedora and it made him look like a ranger of some description.Poor OH and his tale of hat woe. :rotfl:
Need to phone my sister and find out how my big nephew's school Christmas show went as he was performing a rap in it.:rotfl: I really don't know what the context was!Little nephew was apparently beside himself with excitement beforehand.

Not posted for ages, still feeling knackered and have caught OH's cold, so that's making me feel pretty rough as well. Only one more day at work and then I'm off for 5 days over Christmas. :j
The things I ordered online have been delivered - just have to pick one up from the post office. Have got most of my presents wrapped so feeling quite happy with that.
Haven't got much further with the knitting, seem to be doing it in bursts and then not touching it again for a while.
OH still hasn't found a hat and he really needs one - it's sooo cold. Hope you're ok Sashy. I'm like you, 1 day left and can't wait to put my feet up. The cold and snow must be starting to pee you off by now too, so hugs to you.
Stay warmx

Hi mac and thanks, yes the cold is really bad - it was -11 when I went out to work at 5:45 this morning and it hurt to breathe cause it was so cold. Thankfully not had too much snow in the west for a week or so, so not too bad in that respect, although we are meant to get more on Boxing Day, grrr.
Have finished all my wrapping apart from the parcel I need to pick up from the sorting office, think it must be the books I ordered for my nieces. :j
Had a lazy afternoon after work and sat and watched Shrek on the tv.:D Will need to go out tomorrow to top up some food and pick up my parcel, then will need to do some housework. OH did the ironing for me but his good work didn't extend to putting the stuff away.
One of the cats very kindly climbed up on to the top of my cabinet and was sick down the wall behind it. OH found it this morning and freaked out. :rotfl: So had the sugar soap out again to wipe the wall down - think I'll have to go over it again though. Stupid things won't stop eating the freaking artificial tree! Every time one of them goes near it I shout and chase them but they just end up going straight back to it and doing it again! OH is not happy about the state of the carpet as we are cleaning up piles of fake pine needle sick most mornings. Minging.
Met my friends for a pub dinner the other afternoon after work and relived my youth by drinking blackcurrant and cider. :rotfl: Leaving the pub was an ordeal - it was so cold outside that it hurt to move.
