for once, he did. When I said I was going to town to sort it he said 'why not put it on my CC' but as I explained, as it's a private owner they don't take credit cards. He hates then 'owing' me but as I've said before, give me a cheque? (I don't have a cheque book), give me the cash (I'd need to draw it off my CC, pain to do, excuses, excuses), send me the money electronically (refuses to do online banking, only has his CC etc) so as I tell him, I will use your CC number as I need to and tell you so you know for your statement.

He then forgets and gets very defensive when his statement comes about Asda/Tesco etc transactions. I remind him that I've told him the day and the time and he says 'I'm not having a go, I just want to check it is the right amount' after giving me the third degree.

He does have a debit card, I've seen it. But I have no idea how he operates his finances, all I know is that he still insists on going to the bank each month to pay his CC.

I suppose it could be worse and he could just not ever give it back so it's better than nothing. But if he did that, I would get over my dislike of talking about money to him and I would batter him with the DFW spade until he did :D

  • hmmmmm.

Just tried to log on to my natwest account and couldn't. Phoned the online banking people and apparently on 25 Jan they detected a virus trying to log on as me and so blocked my log in. They've re-set it and in 10 minutes I can re-register. The 25th is around the time I was having problems with ebay blocking my account and when I installed new virus protection (I got rid of avast and installed the microsoft one), it said I had a virus called something like 'steal data' _pale_

There's only about a tenner in the account and it's a Step account so they couldn't have done much damage but it's a bit concerning. I've checked my main account and nothing seems amiss there. Think I'll check my barclaycard, it's the only CC I've used recently just to ensure all is well there also.
