Sorry to hijack your thread for a moment BB
Pepe can you claim back PPI on loans that are now being paid off on a DMP do you know? What reasons can you claim back PPI? For example, I took out a loan with PPI on it and they also used OH salary to take into account their decision as I was going off/leaving for maternity leave. So effectively PPI wouldn't have been any use anyway

Reclaim away Sally, Template Letter under the 'Recalim 000's' Tab on the MSE Header Page.
Should have absolutely NO bearing on your dmp. However ,if successful, the Lender involved may try and make the refund as a reduction in your outstanding debt. My view is that if the PPI Premium was ADDED to the Loan they SHOULD have done an automatic refund of the PPI pro-rata with the Term left on the Loan when you defaulted on the Loan Agreement and it was passed for Collection. Then the PPI for the time that you were paying the Loan should come back to you as a refund of your payments.
Must be worth the price of a stamp, if you need a hand, PM me.

  • they said they had a problem finding a comparable car and even the engineer was stumped. It wasn't the most common car but I don't think they tried very hard to find a comparable. - I found some similar if not identical............let's just say if they had dug a bit more, I wouldn't have been offered £1500!! They said normally with a mint (:rotfl:) condition car they start at half the price insured for - ie £1000 would have been offered but because they had no comparable for a car in such an excellent condition ( were they looking at the same car?!) they had to offer the top book price they could find. Even then that was £1400 and the engineer had compared it to the model above, which is £1500!

The only thing mentioned on the report? Animal hair :rotfl: the guy on the phone said 'well, if that's the only thing they can find on a 13 year old car, you must have really looked after it'

Of course I did.......I said coyly.......it was due a dog hoovering when I crashed so obviously couldn't do anything about the hair.......lol.........they didn't see the small dent in the wing when the ladders fell on it in the wind?! Or the small dent on the bottom of the door panel when the Asda delivery guy put some pallet thingies on the door step and they slipped back and hit the car?!

I think someone wanted an early finish and my car was last to be checked of the day ;)

    Suits me................

I paid £1800 three years ago. I'd put the insurance value at £2000 (which was a bit ambitious 3 years ago!) It was a very nice car, but it was an uncommon model in average condition rather than a rare one in mint condition!! No excess to deduct as liability has been admitted and he said as long as the other side pay them back by the time my policy is up for renewal, I won't lose any of my no claims either.

I really hope Thunder is a worthy successor to the title of dogmobile......

no, it's either air or limescale.

Are you sure? Air normally just goes up to the highest point in your system, and stops there (assuming you don't have a constant supply of air i.e. a leak). It can interfere in the flow if there is enough of it, but you'd know by the gurgling sound that it wasn't limescale.

Limescale doesn't cause your water to boil - it acts as an insulator and causes it to *not* heat up.
It's incredibly loud. Starts after about 30 minutes and only stops when it reaches temperature but as soon as it re-fires up it re-starts. The noise is all around the boiler area.

OH said how cold the house is this morning........I said if he made a contribution to the gas he could have the heating on longer..........you can probably imagine the reply.........

If your pump isn't moving the water around, your thermostat will say "it's cold" and keep applying the heat, your radiators will be freezing and your water will be dancing in the boiler as it doesn't get a chance to move to cooler locations.

having a bit of a reflective morning. Perhaps my ex has got the right idea after all, selling up and starting again. Can't see though that I'd see my ultimate mortgage free goal including a move to somewhere like Hartlepool etc etc where houses are cheap but I do wonder where my life is going at the moment and why the hell I don't just walk away from constantly putting up with second best.

You will have problems doing that because it is "out of routine", and that causes you problems. Have you talked much to friends about your previous experiences at work? It seems you are still suffering the aftermath of them. :grouphug:

  • I haven't talked to anyone where I work or outside MSE about what happened with Cruella. I didn't want to bring it with me. They know I was made redundant and I did once say to someone I had a bad experience where I used to work but I've not mentioned it to anyone. Family obviously know but it hasn't been mentioned since I left etc.

OH bled the radiators last night. The bathroom one had never been warm so now is and the one in the spare bedroom (where I am all the time on the lappy)was cool at the top. The radiators are now hot but it hasn't stopped the problem. It's not a knackered pump noise, I had that at my old house, it is like the worlds loudest kettle boiling constantly. OH feels that the boiler is in the wrong place (in a floor level cupboard) and should have been installed in an upper cupboard in the kitchen.

Got my second graze box. Haven't opened it yet as I looked at my account to see what is in it and it looks yummy. I have a £1 off voucher because someone (thankyou!) used my code so I'll get a third box which will be £1.99 and then I'll cancel as I'll be up to full price.
