Paid the CC payments. Paid £20 off the one with £75 on it (higher APR at 14.9%). Want to clear that one next month as CT has finished for the year so I'll have enough spare cash in March to clear that.

The other card had around £180 on ........until I put the balance of the car on it _pale_ so now sits at £1400. I've paid the minimum £5 this month (6.8% so much lower) and fingers crossed I can use the insurance pay out as the March payment and then see what damage is left on the card to clear with AQA over the rest of the year.

bought something that arrived today. A portion plate :o

I know about calories, fat, points, syns. I also know that you can't live your life on a 'diet' because they never work long term. Never. As Toto's Dad once said 'if there was a diet which worked, it would be called 'the diet' and everyone would do it and there would be no other diets'

Sorry if that's not a completely true quote Toto - I think that's how it roughly went!!

I might get the bowl also. I have small bowls and don't eat huge portions in the evening so don't know if it will work as anything different to how I eat my meals now. I haven't yet found the chocolate portion dish/mid morning wagon wheel plate/sick of OH so am eating creme eggs bowl  which is where the problem lies.

I just read a thread about the fat families programme and the reality of how people really look at overweight women is no surprise but isn't nice. I am disgustingly overweight and the bloke on that programme would have a field day with me. Oddly enought, it was Fat Families I first saw them on.

    Carbs, Veg, Protein and fat?

  • yeah, pushing £20 - for a plate........I know, I know.........probably the most un -MSE thing I've bought for years :o

It's split carbs/protein/veg. It doesn't have the ridges (so you can't pile food into the portions) and has a diagram of the size of piece of cheese you can have if you are having cheese - about the size of a dice! Luckily cheese isn't something I eat much of because I don't like it very much unless it's on pizza/grilled on toast.

It comes with a booklet about how to use it and if you have a rice/meat dish how to portion it differently - it has a couple of circles on to create rings. It says that obviously you can still put chips/fried stuff on and having a plate with portions on isn't going to stop that, but it is about trying to re-educate the mind to how much food is actually needed.

Plan for today - go and get ingredients for class on Tuesday, see Charlie. Re-make the bed I've just stripped and I really should clean the bathroom :o

OH is due back - sometime  I think late tonight or early hours of tomorrow. Don't know. Doubt he even know himself untill someone tells him he needs to be ready, he just turns up and lets everyone else do the organising (rolleyes).

I need to sit and look at my bank account...........when I popped on yesterday to make the CC payment it looked scarily healthy......must be something wrong :rotfl:

ah, I don't mention this kind of thing to him. He'd just shrug non-commitally if I told him, but then when I said I was trying but not losing weight I'd get 'well it should be dropping off you'. So I say nothing these days.

not much to report. OH came back last night from his ski-ing holiday. He was telling me about his holiday but before he'd even finished his first cigarette when he got in he stopped and said 'what's that smile on your face for?' as if I was doing something wrong. I must have forgotten to put my miserable mask back on

It was odd seeing him back in the house. He casually and very subtley wandered through the house as he spoke to me and I could see his eyes flicking around the rooms. A bit like a dog sniffing out a new house.

Back to normal though. Straight onto the sports news and asleep on the sofa around 11.

Was that because you hadn't quite got used to the fact he was back, or because you were pleased to see him (and didn't have a spade in your pocket)?
