hmm. That was a mixed bag. £5 voucher from Kellogs because my cereal was all bashed up.

Letter to say my smear was 'normal' from the health authority
Letter from a GP to say my smear test was normal but the swab result was 'unclear' (for what, I don't know) and I have to have another (great, just great)
Letter from a GP saying my fasting glucose result was 'slightly raised' at 6.3 and I have to drink something at hospital and then have another blood test 2 hours later (they blood tested me for a range of things because ofthe leg cramps I get from the nerve damage I have). Great  The fact they never told me to fast in the first place and it was just fortunate I'd eaten 12 hours previously may be part of this although I guess being very overweight is also a factor.

Hyundai are a good, reliable car and they dont fall to bits.........it wouldnt be a bad buy BB ( dont forget that the VWs you were looking at are NOT made in Germany).

That was conclusive from the Hosp then:confused:.

funnily enough, I'd read that -some are from south africa and a range of other countries! [/quote]

That means a morning or afternoon off work for the glucose test - I know I'm at risk because I'm overweight ut I don't think my GP forgetting to tell me to fast helped. Just read up and it looks like my result is right on the edge of normal/not normal - 6.1 is the top of the range.

It also means another appointment with the GP I saw, I went during her well woman clinic but that's on a Tuesday and if I go after work it's too tight to then get to my teaching , but I guess I can go to any late afternoon surgery she has.

I really hate anything hospital/GP related, not through a real fear but it's the fact I'm being 'looked at' and singled out for some kind of examination. I've never ever had time off for hospital/doctor/dentist appointment through my working life, seems this will be a first!

Being positive though - my packages:

My Green Tea bargain £6 perfum
My printer cartridges (£16 for the 2, my existing ones had given up after being re-filled by me with needles and ink repeatedly!)
Wii Biggest Loser which was 9.99

and a Christmas pressie from my sister.......opening now.....lovely, some Body Shop smellies :D

We send women for the glucose tolerance test all the time. I'm told the stuff they make you drink is a bit bleugh (sorry). At 6.1 I would guess that the second one will come back normal, it might just be that you had something sweet the day before which was still sloshing around. Before you go for the next one try not to eat or drink anything super sweet (like chocolate).

It's good that you have another appointment with the GP, you can talk about the gallbladder while you are there :p

ta for that. xxx I'd eaten around 9.30pm the previous night and then 2 shortbreads around 10.30pm. God knows how many chocolates during the day  The test was done at 9.30am the next day.

Nah - I'll leave the gallbladder stuff for another time:p. I feel like I'm being MOT'd and serviced more than enough as it is at the moment  My own fault really -I store it up for years and then have about 3 things to talk about/be tested for/told there's nothing wrong with me - the GP's nightmare
