They wouldn't go looking at where the water was going to. They'd pop an inspection hatch and send a camera-on-a-stick down the drain to look at it."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

He'll tell you that his creation would have spelt "R-O-V-E-R" and that you could see it from space.
he's gone very quiet on the Rover front. He hasn't said once I should get one as my replacement car. I asked why - he said 'because when it goes wrong, you'll blame me' . :rotfl:Is this a mat in search of a purpose?
Sure is. It was only a Tesco Value one to start with so never started off life with much of a pedigree. The last time I washed it, I hung it on the airer outside and it must have fallen off as I found it behind the house, frozen. Probably there agesSo I thought I'd give it something useful to do

BB - Just as a note of caution, have a good look around your outside walls for any stepped or vertical cracks....if there is more than just a blocked drain overflowing down through your garden then you might have a lot of water sitting under your garden/house causing damage/subsidence....best to get that sorted as soon as if you're looking to maybe change mortgages later in the year."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. _pale_ that does cross my mind from time to time.........number 2 on my road had to be re-built a few years ago for subsidence, I'm a bit further up but not exactly far "Stay Wonky":D

well, my creation has helped
I inadvertently forgot to move the mat (remembered around midnight when getting into bed!) and this morning from the source to the mate is frozen, there is then only a small amount (about 6 inches wide) from the mat to the main sheet of it and the wet parts which I moved the ice from on the outside of the planks has dried
. In a couple of hours I'll go out and bang all the edges and narrow the width of the planks. Will also defrost and wring out the mat and put it back together again.
Even OH this morning said 'good engineering', I said 'yep' and he just had to then go 'well, it's not really'
Road is still a rink. Sigh. God I hate this weater. The sun is melting a small section of the road and then it re-freezes but the rest of the road, and the one off it aren't getting any sun each day.
Need to get my teaching file together for course on Tuesday. I was going to go to work and print and copy the handouts for Tuesday night but they've cancelled the courses because of the weather so it will be closed. I'll have to do it when i get to work there for my day job Monday. It shows my problem with routine - I'm getting VERY twitchy that I don't have it all done and in polypockets already. It's done but not there to go. I need my ingredients as well. I normally go on a Saturday or Sunday to get them but the weather is making me put it off and put it off.
Haven't had post since Monday and the bins still haven't been emptied.
God, what a boring life I have "Stay Wonky":D

All hurts today....except the wound site! Backache, legs ache and bored ****less.
Impressive Engineering BB. maybe when the snow clears you'll be able to bag a car at a good price cos no-one will have sold one for weeks?
So bored that I'm now birdwatching out of the conservatory windows....maybe I'll sellotape some crumbs on the inside:rotfl:!:D stay wonky

can't quite remember any time when my life was too exciting I wanted to be bored :rotfl: Busy yes - exciting - nah :rotfl:morning BB. X
All hurts today....except the wound site! Backache, legs ache and bored ****less.I'm also VERY bored. Really want to go out to at least get ingredients for class Tuesday night (although weather says it might be cancelled) but my road scares me and I know the next one will be scarier, even if it's very short

I'm quite impressed with myself - i'm rubbish at anything like that:opepe208 wrote:maybe when the snow clears you'll be able to bag a car at a good price cos no-one will have sold one for weeks?
i've seen a (according to honest john) very reliable car.........but deadly dull. OH seems to think any car I see should be half the price it is, I'm sure he's living 1990 rather than 2010. I'd prefer it to be a coupe but it's 5 door.
It's this (please don't laugh - it's very dull!)

my brother had one for a few years (until a chimney pot fell on it and wrote it off!) and he drives a LOT of miles each week and it was really reliable.pepe2008 wrote:
