• I really really want a new laptop, I could justify it for Tax purposes against MSs, but what is the matter with me lately. I will be 60 before the mortgage is paid off if I carry on at this rate:eek:

We are just getting quotes in for a new bathroom and swapping the boiler. All necessary, so i know where the    is coming from.

I can be good for a little while and then i get the urge to splurge. I think it is a natural part of society nowadays. I am just trying to make the splurges cost less. We are having a takeaway tonight which is bad for the budget but it is at least £5 cheaper than the last chinese we had, and that was on new years eve. I've been so good at cooking all the time and it is my mothers day treat

I'd say that for you when getting the kitchen do get what you want as you will have to live with it for a long time, but the laptop is purely a want at the minute so step away from the credit card kiddo.

I'm at the point where I have now saved enough (hopefully ) to do up my bathroom... I just can't decide what I want! :wall: I'm on my own so if I spend £1000s and get it wrong there is only me to blame! :o Until last year I'd never had that much in savings before and it now really freaks me out to think of spending it despite my bathroom needing urgent help! :o :rotfl:

What sorts of prices were you quoted?

Erm yes where do I start?! The disc drive is held shut with sellotape, although in fairness I never use this bit so it doesn't really matter, the keys get stuck (this could be to do with excess crumbs under the keys:o and it is rather slow. However I'm not really sure any of this warrents actually purchasing a new one and spending even more money!

OMG I love it! Erm have to confess I didn't spend long choosing ours:eek:

Oh poo theres always one with her sensible head on!:rotfl:

Had a real wobble last night, said to hubby what are we going to do if we don't like the work tops once they are fitted, in his usual laid back manner he just told me not to be so stupid! He is always the one that is sure everything will be fine whereas I am always sure it will go wrong...pesimist/optimist things going on, thank goodness we don't think the same!

Did one Ms today that makes erm i've forgotten how many this week, but a fair few! (EDIT its been 9 mystery shops)

We've not had that many quotes yet, but

BG - swap boiler for a valiant condensing boiler, move from kitchen to loft and fit appropriate pipes to take the condensation away - drain the system and clean it and fit thermostatic valves to all radiators and a wireless thermostat was £3600.

b@thst0re was around the £2k mark for a full suite but that didn't include tiles or new ceiling or fitting.

We've had a local company come out and they are doing a plan for us and quoting for everything. But we won't hear back from them till next week.

It is scary. I have my heart set on a P shape bath with shower, and we fell in love with the bathst one as it had a nice curved shape and had something special about it but can we justify it being more expensive than more plain baths the same shape? A real minefield.

And then, we need to go on to getting kitchen quotes when we have all that done. (At least the ILs have offered to pay, so i don't know why i am so  when it isn't even my money. ;))

TPA sorry to be so boring, but someone has to be. ;) If your other one packs up completely then you can. ;) Or alternatively, just ignore me. :D

I NEVER said you were boring! I was just pouting as you said the right thing and didn't give into my whims!

I've added up my mystery shops this week, 9 in total! Not bad eh?!

Kitchen guy came round yesterday & I spent ages telling him about my worktop, sink & taps dilemma. Then he started to show me doors & within secs I said that one in that colour & he nearly fainted :rotfl:. Have got a spreadsheet to record costs (what a surprise :o), so far am £38 over budget. Floor & wall tiles bought well under budget but forgot paint & a few other bits n pieces. Sorry to highjack thread, don't want to post on mine in case OH is lurking :D. He doesn't like the worktops :(. Oh well, not 100% convinced he knows where the kitchen is anyway :).

You will love the worktops TPA, they are stunning. Don't be such a pessimist - if your glass is half full then drain it & have another one ;)

Your other half knows you have a thread..OMG mine doesn't.....I don't think anyway!:o Anyway its not highjacking its [STRIKE]chatting[/STRIKE] discussing the best way to spend our money:rotfl:

.:rotfl: I know, but its such a lot of money. Funny how look after the pennies, do mystery shops for a couple of £ then spend thousands on worktops! Probably just as well i'm tight most of the time eh?

Actually being the sad cowbag that I am I have just totalled up all the extra money I have earnt since begining of January, I haven't accounted for expenses but even so its a very reasonable £993.43 approx:p. This is both my 'overtime' as paid; so tax accounted for, and my Mshops before expenses and tax, so not a very accurate figure....I was just trying to make myself feel better:rotfl:

I have 5 MSs for tomorrow for the new company and another well paid one booked for Thursday evening.
