  • Feeling really bluhhh today. Don't know why, unless its the thought of:
    a. Spending lots of money on a new kitchen or :o
    b. The stress of Halifax still not being able to tell us what has happened to hubbys regular saver money:mad:.

I have done two Mshop phone calls so far today and am part way through three 'on line' ones.

I have got two 'proper' MS visits tomorrow as well as extra hours in 'real' job:j.

I have a week off next week; I want to use this time productively and sort out the house, I was thinking of 'mucking out' a room a day...I will have to go with the thinking if in doubt chuck it out! I could pretend we are moving and get rid of everything that hasn't been used in the last year, I am sure with less clutter it will be easier to keep on top of the house work.

Oh my head is aching just with the thought!

Good news on the 'Halicrap' problem!

Hubbys just phoned to tell me they made a boo boo (tell me something I didn;t know!). When you set up a regular saver with them they automatically set up another account, which, when the regular saver matures the balance gets moved too. Because this other account had been inactive for a year (yermmmm yes THEY set it up for the sole purpose of moving the ONE year regular saver to on maturity) they closed it! So when they made they automatic transfer to the now closed account the money got lost in cyber space.

Anyway they have promised o transfer the funds to hubbys bank account in the next few days:eek:. How rediculous! Luckily for me when I first opened my account I transfered the money into the wrong account, when withdrawing it to the correct one I transfered all but £1. This £1 obviously made the account active therefor my money did not get lost!

mmmm maybe the alcohol was the least bad option? ;)

Regarding the granite work surface do look into the problems you can have if you use acidic items in the kitchen or a hard water area; citric acid etc used for removing limescale will hammer your granite surface and you won't be able to polish it out etc. They are very nice, but check that your cooking preferences and water etc won't make caring for the work surface a constant worry.

One other point, I thought you'd posted a reply on my thread yesterday based on the forum list, but the post's been stolen! :rotfl:

    Well done on the offset.

Its not now (almost 10pm) and I'm still on the diet coke:p Although having just wormed the cat and dog I deserve a BIG drink, two bites later (and that was just the cat:eek:) and an arm that now looks like I have been dragged through a privit hedge. I think they eventually took them but I may well find one spat under the sofa if I ever dare to move it to dyson!

yumm yum, chocolate brownies and cream sounds lurvly.

Well done for staying on the diet coke and surviving the worming of the cat and dog.

Re kitchen worktops: I think granite looks amazing but wouldn't trust myself with one. We've got a solid oak worktop which is great for us as OH just sands it down after i've ......dropped, burned, split and gouged it!
