(although as Tete will tell you I should really have had an extra one to teach me to park!)

Eeks, I'm looking like the remedial driver here aren't I? It was more nerves than anything though to be honest :(

God I remember passing my test the first time. Got home and Dad said take the car out for run. I ended driving to Darlington via the Stockton back roads as that was the way mum always went. Was not too bad till I got to Stockton and realised there was no body there. Once I got over that I was away.

Hehe, it was a bit like that! I was even like that in one dress, it was very snug on my hips, I thought I was stuck in it at one point!

I've decided that I can't walk in a dress with a train so anything that drags along behind me is a no-no and I can't have anything that draws too much attention to my bust as there isn't much of one as my Mum kindly pointed out!

Talking of Bridezillas, I went to Hobbycraft with my friend on Saturday to help her look for bits to put on her Save the Date cards and she's already a nightmare! We walked around the same aisles about 6 times looking for the perfect everything, her Mum kept telling her that it doesn't have to be fancy and to just choose *something* but no, it sets the tone of the entire wedding and people are going to judge her on it blah blah blah. I didn't want to tell her that most people will forget what it looks like as soon as they put it down for fear of being bludgeoned to death with a tube of glitter!

Corset style dresses are good if you don't have much bust wise. I don't either and the corset gave me a great figure!

Pfft, you're all show offs! :D I was put down for 40 hours before he'll look to put me in for the test, but he said most learners take 50hrs?! Once I've done a few more lessons I'm going to start pestering my Dad to let me drive to and from work for practise. Just had a phone call from them to book my theory though, scary!
  • Ah sorry CMD, I thought you did!

I know what you mean Poolie, felt very weird getting in the car for the first time without someone in the passenger seat! Now I prefer it!

Happy Birthday Dinah! A birthday meal with your nearest and dearest sounds lovely, but you're definitely not old!

I think 24 hours of lessons is about average, depending on whether you have access to a car in between them. I failed my first test too, but wasn't too worried as I left the country weeks later, but I did have to wait about 18 months before I drove again!

Your wedding dress shopping experience sounds horrid! Nothing like trying on someone else's cast offs to make you feel special, eh? I imagined dress shopping to be all relaxed and luxurious with champagne and harp music... But I guess a sample sale is a whole other thing!

Happy Birthday Dinah!!!! You kept quiet about that!!!
lol girlies, £15 here in student land will buy you quite a lot of drinks so it wasnt like I was being particularly mse but hey!
We had a bit of a party here last night, to celebrate the new year lol it was wicked although all my muscles and throat and head hurt from the combo of kareoke, crazy dancing and bed jumping and alcohol! Ah well, a god start to the last semester yeah? And now exams are over and the new year has officially started, I'm going to write myself a good to do list and be productive!

CMD Im pretty much the same as Birdie on this one, I had 15 lessons (1hr) but ent out with my mum and dad every day (just driving to the bus stop etc). I failed my first test though when I went through a red light (i know, I know..)

I think I had about 15 lessons and lots of practice in between, I passed first time and I think it's because I was very confident as I drove somewhere nearly every day with my parents to get me used to the road. That first journey on your own is nerve-wracking though!

Also does anyone know anything about american Express? I just got one but I hear there are more charges or something?

thats what I meant about BSM! they want you to learn more so I've heard they stop people from progressing, they invest so much to get each client that they want to keep u! I'm sure you'll be fine though, you can just take it when youre ready im sure
  • Dinah -meant to say. Exciting about the house! When is NIM going to chat to his Dad?
