Flower - hope you are okay. The sentence does seem very leniant. You probably don't feel it now, but it was probably a good idea to attend the hearing as it will help with the grieving process xxx

Dinah - sorry to hear about the knee

Cinny - I think you will pick up driving in no time

Wendz- sorry to hear about the flat. There is no rush though, you want to be finacially okay so you can pick an area that you like and can afford.

    Hi everyone else!

Payday for me today so feel a bit better about transferring some baby savings! OH is still waiting to get a cheque for part time work (on the way) and we are due money back on our rent deposit in February so that should add another £1500 (approx) to the savings. I want to get under 10k this month on the debt front so have budgeted some money from that to go towards overpaying the loan.

I just found out that I will have so much annual leave accrued when I come back to work properly in Sept that I should get paid on a full time basis for Sep, Oct and Nov so that will be great for overpaying on the loan as well. Depending on how costly this little one is - I would like to have the loan fully paid off by June 2011 - and then start overpaying on our mortgage. OH would also be due a bonus(and payrise in September) in Oct and Nov this year (depending on how the company is going) so that will go towards overpaying as well :)

Aw what a lovely post :) Thanks Dinah!

Am 37 weeks today so baby could potentially come at any time, although I would prefer it stayed put til nearer the due date to give me time to chill out and get ready mentally. Physically everything is in place and my Mum has booked her flight to come over for 3 weeks. She arrives when I am 3 days overdue so is hoping baby stays put til then. Who knows though - they come when they are ready! Can't wait to finish up today and put my feet up :)

My dad told me yesterday he was over 4 weeks overdue! I didn't know they let them go that long! But then again he arrived at over a stone! Sorry just realised I repeated myself in the last post, but at least you got the gist CMD :)

Well there is a whole year to get all that done Cinny, you don't have to do it all in the first month! Really chuffed for you moving forwards though. Will it be wierd for you being in a structured educational environment after so long being home schooled?

I had to get the big ones done/started while I was motivated though! Otherwise I'd be 'Ooh, I'll book in next week!' You all know me, I'm fab at making excuses & putting things off. I don't think college will be too weird though, but I guess we'll see!

OHs birthday is in just over a month, but I could make a heart shaped one for valentines! (and scoff the off cuttings) Ooo, might have to do that now! :D

CMD - Things are sounding great on the money front! So great you've got a DF date in site. Your due date isn't too far away either now, & like Dinah said our first DFW baby!

Wow - 4 weeks overdue!!! I think the most they will let you go now is 14 days. I would prefer to wait 14 days cos it is better to go naturally but at the same time I think it would be frustrating waiting so long. The other girl that did the hypnobirthing course is 41 + 5 days and is not being induced til Tuesday so really hope she goes over the weekend the poor thing.

Wendz, aww I was sad to read your diary post. Don't worry, soon you will have your Dad paid off and if you keep on saving like that you'll have a deposit in no time! Plus hopefully some bonusses and pay rises :)
We did shared ownership too - not a new build, as these tended to be exceptionally small, with huge service charges - but a resale property. We saw a few resales that were great, so perhaps that's something to think about? Not right for everyone, I know because of the rental element. But our 3 bedroom house with rent and mortgage will cost the same as a one bedroom flat on the open market in the same area. ETA - per month.

    Hugs to you Flower.

CMD - you are doing so well with the debt, that's fab!

Ooooh, it's so exciting CMD! It really sounds like you're getting sorted financially, you'll be under £10k in no time!

Wendz I think you've made ther right call with the flat, it's always difficult borowing big sums of money from family and friends and if it causes issues with the mortgage then you're better off saving up the money yourself, even though it could take a while!

Flower, I'm really cross for you about the leniency of the sentencing for the driver, I hope that the knowledge of what he did haunts him for the rest of his life, not just the 5 years max that he'll be incarcerated. I hope that this is the last of the set backs you meet in moving on from what happened.

Cinny- good girl for being so gung-ho about being a better you this year, although we don't think you need bettering, we love you as you are!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
