Speaking of over cooked babies. I was 2 weeks late putting in an appearence. The doctor should have come and got me earlier.

I was 2 days early. My Dad really wanted to go to a 'Businessman's Lunch' in London that he goes to every year, which is basically a lot of men in suits handing out freebies and getting very drunk, my Mum kept saying he wasn't allowed to go in case she went into labour but he was determined, at about 5am that morning she started with labour pains so got up, had some breakfast, had a shower, got her bag ready and woke my Dad up with a smug smile and said, 'I told you you're not going today!' He's never quite forgiven me!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am feeling a lot better now so know we have made the right choice. I think we would have been stretching ourselves too much to live in a not great area, so not worth it really! Sure my Dad will be pleased he doesn't have to lend so much money hehe.

CMD - not long now! It is so exciting to have our first thread baby and we don't know if it is a boy or girl.

My sister was due the same day as Prince Harry was born but she was actually a couple of weeks late. We reckon it was because she didn't want to have to share the attention with him hehe.

Haha love that story Birdie. Bet your Mum was pleased you came then. I was a planned caserean so my Mum didn't even have to go into labour after the problems she had with my sister.

Morning everyone, busy on here today!

Flower, so sorry - five years is nothing but hope you can start to put it behind you now that that part's over.

Wendz that's a shame that your plans didn't work out but as Dinah says there's nothing wring with renting, it's just what's right for you at the time.

Ah, a thread baby! What a lovely thought!

Glad you liked the cake Dinah after I bang on about it so much - Cinny I think you definitely need to do a practice run ;)

ETA - Hang on ... I take a little while posting and when I scroll back up there's a post from Poolie which starts "Speaking of cooked babies..."!!!! What's going on?!

EATA - Ah OK it was more innocent than at first glance!

  • I was 10 days late (was due New Years Day) and my mother had a 16 hour agonising labour with me. Hope history doesn't repeat itself!

Oh dear CMD, every labour is different as they say so you never know what you will get. The end result will be worth it though.

True - and my mother had a pyscho private consultant that left her for hours before breaking her waters. She went public with my brother and sister!

I had a rather horrific image in my head of a roast baby! (No psychologists on this thread are there?!)
