I'm doing these books for mum, bridesmaids etc, basically telling them how much they mean to me etc. However one of the questions I have to answer is 'You never knew this about me' ... what on earth can I put in my mums book?! Shes my best friend, so she knows most things anyway, and I'm never about to do a 'I once had sex on a Nissan forecourt' type confession!

    Hi Dinah,

Just wanted to wish you and NIM all the best for Friday. You both deserve to have the most amazing day and I know you will have an amazing life together

    xxx

I am off to Tuscany tomorrow as one of my close friends is getting married on Friday as well. She was as stressed last week as you are this week because they flew out last Saturday. It all got done though, and word has it that they are enjoying proseccos in the sun now. Hope you get to relax on Thursday before the big day :)

ARGH. The veil I have so lovingly hand sewn has hair dye on it from when I took it to the hairdressers to practice having it fitted - if she can't tell us how to get it off I've wasted about 180 hours of my life sewing the damn thing, and its far too late to get a new one.

I know they use milk to get hair dye out os skin, no idea if would work for veil so wouldn't risk it. TJust found this if it helps:

    <LI id=jsArticleStep1 itxtvisited="1">1
Blot the stain with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol), using a clean, white cloth.
    <LI id=jsArticleStep2 itxtvisited="1">2
Treat natural fibers such as wool or cotton with a solvent such as lighter fluid, turpentine or mineral spirits; again, use a clean, white cloth.
    <LI id=jsArticleStep3 itxtvisited="1">3
Alternatively, treat synthetic fibers with hydrogen peroxide, using a clean, white cloth.
    <LI id=jsArticleStep4 itxtvisited="1">4
If the stain persists, bring on the bleach. If a dilute solution of all-fabric bleach doesn't work, soak the garment in a a solution chlorine bleach in water, following directions on the bleach bottle. Note that this step could ruin your clothes; test a small, hidden area for bleach tolerance.
    <LI id=jsArticleStep5 itxtvisited="1">5
Or, try a color remover, following directions on the box. Color remover will take out the fabric color as well as the stain, so you will have to re-dye your garment.

Sorry to hear about your Grandma Dinah, I hope the medicine works. What a nightmare with the veil! How the heck did they get dye on it? I'd be fuming at the carelessness of them! If it was me they'd be buying me a new one now!

For your 'you never knew this about me' bit in your Mum's book did you ever do something naughty when you were little that you've never told her?

OH's parents have been round this evening helping me wallpaper our 'feature wall' in the living room, it looks fab! It's this paper, I can't wait for the sofa and chair to arrive now!

Can;t buy it though, thats the point I've made this and it can't be remade :( Luckily I tried the suggestions posted by Wendz, and its about 80% better, may try dry cleaning it after the wedding.

I can only think of one naughty as a child thing, and I'm not sure if I told her it or not!

Your living room will look lovely when its all done Birdie.
