    Thanks Kavics.

3 types of cake down and I've hit a wall until someone comes home - I've run out of baking powder! I didn't even think to check it, its one of those things that just goes on and on. Confident I'll have 7/8 done tonight, the eighth needs to sit overnight before cooking to absorb flavours.... eek!

I am so tired. And there is still so much to do :( 2 batches of cakes went wrong today, so I need to redo both of those plus one I just didnt get around to tomorrow. And they all need icing. Need a table plan... it just goes on and on it's so scary.

Dinner with our families tonight. NIMs mum was a demon. She threw a strop that she wasn't sat next to NIM at the wedding meal, and went and hid in the loos for 30mins. She then came back and made jokes and laughed behind her hand with NIMs brothers gf at my mum, which set NIM right off as he considers my mum more his mum of the last few years than her, and what right does she have to mock my mum just because she has less money, and weighs more than the 6 stone she so proudly flaunts (and looks like a hag), and wore a maxi dress from Next rather than a designer dress?! She also then threw another strop that she didn't have the room next to us at the hotel - to which NIM replied he didnt want his mother in the next room on his wedding night, and she told him not to be stupid she'd turn the tv on if she heard anything, but if he was going to be difficult then she'd stay at a better hotel. She can go and stay on the moon for all I care!

What a cowbag NIM's Mum is! Make sure she's 'accidentally' cut off all of the photos! Ooooh or get whoever is stood next to her in each photo to do devil horns behind her head! Why on earth would a mother want to share a wall with her child on their wedding night?! We've requested totally separate blocks from everyone else when we go away! Not that we're loud but we just don't want to feel like anyone is listening in!

Sorry about the cakes going wrong, is there anyone you can call on to help you today? I think at this stage you shouldn't worry about them being perfect and more about them just being finished! When do you fly off again? Can the ironing wait? Or... do they have an ironing service at the hotel in Dubai? Your stuff will just get wrinkled in the suitcase anyway so don't bother worrying about it, just shove your stuff in and let the staff sort it when you get there!

Try not to worry about things too much, it'll all fall into place and tomorrow you'll be Mrs NIM and all of the stress will be over!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • It's always strange how many lurkers pipe up when something big happens like now or when NIM proposed! :D

Dinah can't believe what time you made that post, I agree with Birdie there must be some things that can wait, like the ironing or the packing to move - you can always pick things up when you get back from Honeymoon. NIM's mum has excelled herself again I see - does she want the room next door so she can come and tuck him in or something? And for the record, I think Next is quite posh!

Try not to stress too much over the little things or you won't enjoy the day.
