Just realised I only have 5 weeks to loose almost exactly a stone - eek! Maybe I should just smell the cheesecake instead of eating it?!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm having exactly this problem! It's OH's fave and I make him one about once every three weeks. Someone at his work makes these enormous fluffy ones and she gave me the recipe, which only uses 2 eggs and 4oz each of flour, sugar etc - and they come out like pancakes! But when I double the recipe, although they come out very big, they're really really stodgy!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
All of my cakes turn out stodgy and/or flat so I can't help!
Lara, I think that you should just pull your finger out and pay the extra to fly BA! Surely you'll feel better when you get there!

LOL Birdie, thanks! I was just about to but found a secret Ryanair airport that's only 2 hours away and over £100 cheaper. You know the ones miles and miles outside the cities they're actually named after? Anyway I booked everything and it's all done now so I feel quite relieved. No Martin smilies for me today. (Although the secondhand office furniture guy just told me that the wheelie filing cabinet thing I bought would have cost £990 new retail and I bought it for £35. So I guess that's not too bad!)
Definitely going to have a few drinks later to chill out. I need to make a cake for a friend's bday tomorrow, hope it goes okay. I made a Nigella one and it was very dry but luckily so full of chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate that nobody cared!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
A stone in 5 weeks in near impossible isn't it?! I've been putting weight back on - it's rubbish. Is the diet challenge still going?!Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Someone at his work makes these enormous fluffy ones and she gave me the recipe, which only uses 2 eggs and 4oz each of flour, sugar etc - and they come out like pancakes! I used Delia's recipe and used 2 eggs and 4oz of each, same as you, and they were barely an inch thick each cake. I used two tins, is that what you do? Maybe you just get better with practice. I'd love to master it!Zig, we're not FB friends, we'll have to befriend each other so I can give you a fringe opinion!
I've added you, thanks!
What cake are you making Lara? I want to make some more fig and white chocolate cookies as they were lovely but I'm trying to stick to my diet now! Well done on getting the cheaper flights and bargain furniture, I reckon it's worth a swirly Martin! :money:Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Lara - You deserve a swirly Martin, you got your flights £100 cheaper AND super bargainous Office kit. :money: Dang it, have two. One for each!
:money:
I, on the other hand, really don't deserve a swirly Martin. Haircut cost £28.50, and I broke my spending ban to buy some stuff from Boots to styling my hair now I will actually have to use hair gunk and what not. Took some quick photos, cheesy grins as standard! One of the short side and the best I could get of the 'long' size. I look bloody demented in the last one though, can't believe how white my teeth are. Ross style! But I really like it, although my head feels very light at the moment.
Tete - That's the recipe I use and mine turn out quite big and fluffy! I don't know why yours and Zigs came out flat or stodgy, I don't do anything special either just bung it all in (I never sieve things like they tell you to.. *ahem*) and mix until my arm gets sleepy!0 -

I use a similar one and mine always rise alarmingly in the oven - don't want to sound like I'm showing off thoughlots of mixing involved!

Loving the hair and the cheesy grin Cinny!
Zig, what lovely hair you have! I think you should stick with a side sweepy fringe, it looks nice!
