Congratulations Swinstie! So pleased for you! :D

Back to work for me tomorrow, not happy! Especially as I heard a rumour that our offices were getting moved over the weekend so I don't even know where I'll be sitting!

Loving the cakes Dinah, the little leis on them are so cute! Saved to my favourites! :D

We banked the cheque this morning so it should be in our account by Thursday, can't wait! We're going to pay the balance of the wedding as soon as the money hits our account so we know it's done! We were also looking for furniture today; we've decided to get a sofa and an armchair/ 2 small sofas and a chest of drawers for the bedroom at least. We really like this chair and footstool from Next but it's quite dear for a chair, we'll have to see how much a sofa will be to go with it to see if we can justify it. OH lives in his own little world bless him, he had no idea how expensive furniture was! The cheque wasn't really a wedding gift, more like a bit of early inheritance. They sold thier house a couple of months ago and now rent so they've got money in the bank for the first time in their lives. They've asked us to not tell the other brothers because they're 'not ready' for it yet, think it's for when the boys get married/ move in with a girl and right now they'd just waste it on silly gadgets! Quite funny that the youngest brother is ready before the older ones! We had quite a good talk about babies whilst we were away too, it looks like I'll be coming off the pill after his 29th birthday in September 2012 as he wants a baby by the time he's 30, I just hope we don't run into problems trying! It's nice knowing that he's got such a firm plan, seeing his friend so happy with his OH and baby has really settled his mind, think he expected life to end when a baby arrives but his friend still has a life and a gorgeous little girl and couldn't be happier so now OH wants that! That makes me happy as my boss's little boy is the cutest little thing and I was so broody when I was holding him the other day!

We went to see a preview of the Karate Kid last night on a bit of a whim, it was really good! Very similar to the original but I liked that. Jaden Smith is a total star in the making, very like his Daddy and a brilliant actor, can't believe he's only 12! Toy Story 3 was very good too, I feel so guilty for ever throwing away toys. In future I'll always make sure I donate toys to a loving home!

Tete, I only got one book in Barter Books and that was because I felt like I should get something! It was nice to wander round and have a look though! Lunch in the Treehouse was nice, I really want a treehouse of my own like that! We didn't go into Alnwick Gardens because we decided it wasn't really worth it for us and we got there quite late but we went round the castle which was good... we also rolled down one of the hills around it, OH got me on camera, I'm very graceful! :rotfl:

How'd the hair trial go Dinah? You get pictures?

Sorry for the long rambling post! Off to bed now, have been after an early night for ages and not managed it yet so I'm really hoping I get it tonight!

Honestly, yes. At least a year.

NIM has cheered me up a lot though, and helped me see its not a problem debt situation, we can afford to make all the repayments, I think more than anything I'm scared of admitting to all you guys how much we're now in. I think I'm going to go over and skulk around with CMD for a few days, we're facing similar mountains.

Lol! Your welcome to skulk with me anytime Dinah. We can motivate each other :)

Birdie - brilliant news about the cheque. I am chuffed for you!

    Congrats Swinstie! That's lovely :)

Birdie, sounds like everything's going well - that must be a relief after all the wedding/flight stress etc!

So, anyway, trapeze is REALLY hard! Fun, but I was bottom of the class :( I struggled getting started, especially as I'm small and I had to stand on tiptoes just to reach the trapeze, let alone swing up my feet on to it! but looking forward to being better next week...

    Morning girls,

Thanks for your lovely congrats - it's a nice change from the guys at work who didn't even notice (but did says congrats once they knew)! I'll not hijack Dinah's any longer *except to lurk of course* xx

    Morning!!

Birdie, sounds like you've got some great plans with the pennies! I love that chair, I was thinking '£149 isn't too bad..' until I saw it was just for the footstool

Moved some pennies into our moving out account this morning. All my savings have been soaked up the past couple months, with driving, car stuff, holidays ect so I'm basically starting from scratch again. Put all my savings accounts back on 'show' so hopefully every payday when I check my bank I'll see how low they are and decide I best put money away before I spend it!

Ohh no, I'm not putting them in my sig. They're all a matter of 'save as much as possible' over having proper goals, if that makes sense! I meant I put them on show on my online banking, for the guilt factor when I have spare money!

That's my trick too Cinny, the only problem is that I don't check my online banking often enough!

Poddle, I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall at your class! Are you aching now? I'm sure you'll get better in no time! :)

:j:j:j Guess what?! :D:D:D (Subject to the terms of the tenancy agreement being OK...) We get the keys on Monday! Can't possibly move in then of course at such short notice, but hopefully next weekend! I think I'm a bit in shock as I really wasn't expecting it to happen for us, and now I feel more relieved than anything that we're not going to be back to square one.

OMG we have absolutely nothing to go in a house haha, the sort of bits and bobs I've been collecting are picture frames, wine glasses, plant pots ... nothing practical like kettle or cutlery :D Never mind though eh? :rotfl:
