I wanna see the tattoo too!
How odd about the bathroom suite, we offer next day delivery!
I'm having my own wedding nightmare at the minute, I'm afraid I hit the coffee cake at lunchtime! Re invites and crying/stressing: I could have cried when I was making my invites it was stressing me out so much, and every time I got home and started cutting bits up and I found an error (or accidentally sliced right through it because I lost concentration!) I'd have to wait until I could go back to work to print them off again because we don't have a printer at home, it was awful! When OH told me he'd found an error on the finished thing I was ready to die... luckily it was just a blue full stop at the end of an orange sentance, I can live with that!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Have to agree with Birdie here. I don't get how you're so laid back about it! You are spending an awful lot, don't you want it to be sickeningly perfect?? Like the typos on the invites, that would make my knees hurt! But then I get stressed at just thinking about planning mine and OHs wedding, so it might just be me? Hope you manage to get in touch with the lost groomsman!
Everything else sounds pretty dandy though, hope everything with the house goes nicely! Don't forget to haggle a little with the quote, let them know how much you want to spend and see what they can do. Weird about the bathroom suite! Where are you ordering from? Is a super special one or made to order?I do tend to agree here aswell. If/When OH and i do get married i can pretty much guarantee our budget would be no where near as big, but i would still be panicky (sp?) about everything and chasing it all up. Have to agree if i had paid money for invites and they were wrong i think i would cry - maybe that just says something about me though?I'd definitely get my wedding invitations redone if they had typos! But it's like CMD says, everyone has different priorities - I'd go all out for the right music and food, but I'm not so worried about flowers, favours and place cards... As long as you're happy with how it's going Dinah, don't worry about it! It is a vast amount of money, but it's much better to be relaxed that one of those bridezilla types - eek!
Lol getting them redone would be at least another£100, thats money down the drain as far as I'm concerned! The invites are all going to end up in the recycling boxes across the country at the end of the day.
My feeling is if I get stressed out about it then I'm going to be stressed on the day, I've seen brides throwing a strop because the cake has a small dent in the icing - !!!!!! you've just married the man of your dreams what the hell does icing matter?! The house is the priority, the wedding part is sorted, its just the reception, and it'll be fun no matter what.
I'm just focussing on the being married part, the actual day is just a party so wording on invites or having the right flowers doesn't bother me at the moment! A friend and a couple of bridesmaids are coming over the day before the wedding and we're doing the flowers ourselves, the same friend is decorating the church, we're not doing favours we're making a donation to cancer research and altzheimers uk (sp) instead, seems like a better use of the money. The cake is being done by an ex colleague of my dads, although we haven't actually got a price or decided on what we want it to look like (but apparently that can be decided with a fortnight to go). I'll admit I am a little stressed about my wedding ring, if they can't smelt it down and just pay a little extra for a thicker one I'm stuffed as I can't afford a new one - but I really, really don't like it atm. But we're going to the shop on Saturday to see about it. NIMs is nice though!
One of my bridesmaids popped over today to chat and see if she could help, so we've addressed all the invites we can, and emailed anyone whose address I don't know so hopefully they can be sent soon. The thing is she was sat here asking what else she could do to help, and there isn't anything. Nothing that isn't sorted can be done from home except for me keeping on with the veil (which I'm doing now).
Going to see the bloke about the new product start up this evening, I know I've gone quiet on that front but he's been away recently, so hopefully things will get going again now.

I understand that people have different priorities with regards to how the day goes, and of course your right it is the being married part that matters. But for someone who isnt bothered by all the little bits, your spending a lot of money. I know if i was spending that on one day i would expect every tiny little detail to be perfect!
I hope you can get your ring sorted though! It wouldnt be nice to have a ring that you really dont like, so got my fingers crossed for you!
Birdie - i would definitely been the same as you with the invites, i dont think i could ever make my own invites i would be crying every time they went wrong (which with me would have been alot :rotfl::rotfl:).Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
We're spending a lot of money in order to have the people who matter to us there (and the awesome honeymoon ofc!), our budget for all the fancy bits is quite small. Just ordered these, which may end up being part of the top table decoration along with some rose petals. I'm also going to speak to mum about ordering this, as I am a bit nervous in case I'm chilly... not that it would be a huge help! Because I broke the NSD today I'm trying to work out as much wedding stuff as I can to get it all ordered at once! Looking to order my giant games today too, giant jenga, dominoes, quoits and pick up sticks to go with the croquet we already have for £60 (which is cheaper than renting the damned things!). Just waiting to see if I can negotiate postage down a bit.
Ooooh. Umbrella hire. If I find my wedding book I could order that today too.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
