I helped her paint her garden bench too, so surely I'd earned my 2 little beers!

Oh god it gets worse! No, you definitely don't owe them anything!!

    Hi all

Thanks Cinny for the welcome! How did the letter go Dinah? I actually sat there on Friday whilst learning company law thinking 'I am never, ever in a million years going to use this' but I do like to be proved wrong! A girl I was at school with now lives in California and it looks amazing, Colorado also looks fab - they might be relatively near each other but don't hold me to that, Geography isn't my strong point :o

I am pretty sure you will have already done it but take a meter reading straight away, we had British Gas chasing us for ages for the previous tenants debt  and it really is worth shopping around. I am sure one of the price comparison sites will just let you compare basic unit prices.

Birdie I can't believe the cheek of your 'friend'! I am not very good at being diplomatic so I would probably have to be quite abrupt in my reply! I like the idea of charging them for food when they come to you :rotfl:

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

OH was so mad he said that next time we have them round for food and drink we'll give them a menu and they can pay us per item consumed!

:rotfl::rotfl:You should do that! I wonder if they would find it funny :D

Seriously though, I would be really annoyed if I was you!

Birdie, are they the ones who are coming to your wedding?

Even if i thought my friends were out of order for not contributing to a bbq (even though you did!) i would never have the cheek to say anything!

    Talk about an akward situation!

It's the friend who is the is-she-isn't-she-coming bridesmaid who is already on shaky groud with me TBH! She used to be a right cow, then got better... she's turning a little cow-like again now and I feel like telling her to sort herself out! Oooh check me being nasty and blunt! I'm lovely really :o

When do you get the builder's quote Dinah? I'm feeling a little nervous for you!

No idea tbh, didn't think to ask! Hopefully within the week though otherwise I'll fb him and ask how its coming.

Mum liked her oven :D She had a rough weekend, last night she had to take the rabbit to the emergency vets as he had maggots and it looked like he was going to have to be put down, but he's a fighter and seems to be pulling around. NIM is her favourite person today, not only did he drive her and the rabbit to the vets, but he spent 2 hours at the vets assisting the nurse in pulling all the maggots out with tweezers, but when he came home he noticed something was up at the school over the road so he called the police resulting in 4 lads being arrested and a school saving a lot of money, and then today he joint bought her an oven - couldn't wish for a better son in law really! I feel us blood children are a let down in comparison!

Yey, payday tomorrow. I like payday, so many targets and things change, plus the CC has gotten a little scary this month and it'll be good to see it go down again.

How bad a girlfriend does it make me that I'm using supernanny witchcraft on NIM? He has an assignment due in tomorrow which at the start of the evening was still only 20% done. So I started the evening being very verbally and demonstrably supportive, made his dinner, got him drinks, asked how it was going etc. After a few hours I removed myself upstairs going down every so often to check on how it was progressing. Now it's getting late I'm staying upstairs, he keeps sending me messages on gmail that he's going to call it a night, he can't do it etc, but supernanny said that was a childs way of looking for validation to quit, so I'm ignoring the messages, and fair play to the woman, he's worked another hour and a half since he said he had reached the end of what he was capable of, so he must be getting nearer to getting it done. The one drawback of this is he is working in the dining room, which you have to go through to get to the kitchen - and I'm parched!

Dont think it makes you a bad girlfriend, but its definitely a bit strange! :rotfl:

My mum has asked me to check her Clubcard points....im confused.
They've sent her £23.00 worth of vouchers in the post. But when i log on, she's only got £4 worth of points. But she shops in there every week and spends over £100! So how has she got so little points?! She doesnt spend them instore either anymore, so it cant be that. I dont get the way it works :o
